Dalton, Ga. - January 24, 2008 - Shaw Industries received the first ever Vendor Green Steps Award from Sherwin-Williams on January 15. The award was presented to Shaw's national accounts team and environmental team including Floyd Kyzer, Don Travis, Rick Ramirez and John Bradshaw at the Sherwin-Williams 2008 Sales Meeting and Vendor Show. The new award recognizes Shaw's efforts in recycling post-consumer carpet, development of sustainable products and continuous improvements in energy conservation.

"Shaw's admirable and aggressive green efforts have set an industry standard for sustainability," said Pete Sedlak, vice president of marketing and purchasing for Sherwin-Williams. "It was an honor to present Shaw with the first Vendor Green Steps Award. Sherwin-Williams is proud to partner with a company that is committed to doing the right thing by lessening the environmental footprint of their manufacturing processes and offering sustainable products to the consumer."

"This award recognizes Shaw as the leader in sustainability and environmental stewardship. We've come a long way in environmental development and it's extremely gratifying when one of our customers recognizes the real environmental progress that Shaw has made," said Floyd Kyzer, Shaw's national account director.
