We went through Costco to purchase new carpet for our home and they assigned us to Magic Carpet. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience from samples brought to our home to the installation. Magic carpet did a whole house install via Costco. We met twice with the sales representative, Stephanie. She did a great job of being here on time and efficient. Stephanie has really great knowledge of the types of carpet and how to choose a carpet. She was the main reason we went with magic carpet. Installation was done well and they did not ding or scratch any surfaces. We had a problem with the purchase that was not entirely their fault but they resolved it for us professionally and thoughtfully. Would highly recommend!

The workmanship was generally good. I don't know what makes a great carpet install but everything looks right and tight to me. The installers did not damage the home or scratch any walls. My home was recently painted and I wanted to avoid damaging the fresh paint. The sales staff and installers were friendly and made good recommendations too. Unfortunately everything else was a debacle.Punctuality was a common issue. The sales rep was late to the first meeting. The installers noted a start time and would show up late. Not living at the home at the time meant that I had to sit around and wait for them to show up.Deadlines were also an issue. The initial job was quoted at two days. I think they were here four or five separate days. One of which the installers worked to 9PM. Again, not living at the home, it made a long day for me. They offered to lock up when they were done but I did not feel comfortable doing that. The job went on a bit longer than expected and they did not seem to have a good handle on how much longer it would take. It threw off the time table for moving a bit and was a struggle to work around.Communication in general seemed to be an issue. No one mentioned that they do not take out closet systems. The installers started cutting around the shelves in the master closet, leaving the 30 year old carpet exposed. I asked about it and they noted they do not take them out. Fortunately I was there to remove the shelves so the carpet could be installed properly. Neither the sales or install staff felt it necessary to tell me. I had to discover this myself.Another communication break down was carpet pad. I recall being sold a white carpet pad that looked like memory foam. It did not have the same erratic pattern as normal pad. When the install started. New pad was placed very quickly. When I looked at it, I noticed it was not the right pad. A few hours later, new pad was delivered but still the wrong one. Another few hours went by and the correct pad was delivered. Later came to find out that my original order was for the second pad delivered, and Magic Carpets, to their credit just put in the one I thought I was sold. At the same time, the wrong pad was going in. If I had not noticed a non moisture resistant pad would have gone in on my basement floor and I may have not noticed until it was an issue.As a side note, they said they clean up the floors when they install the carpet. I don't think they do a very thorough job in this department. The installers forgot a vacuum cleaner the first day and used my shop vac. With the extra hours available from having the wrong pad, they did a good job cleaning. But I was there doing it too. Their idea of cleaning was a quick sweep initially, I had higher expectations. The majority of carpet was uninstalled the first day and it gave me a chance to go and clean the home myself. Perhaps a sweep is all that is needed but I would have liked to know that is all that was provided.There were more little issues, more miscommunications, more points of irrigation but the above covers the highlights. For a $20K+ carpet install, I don't think they respected my time. I'm glad they did not cause damage and think the carpet is good but the whole experience was disappointing. I still have a roll of carpet pad in my garage I have tried to have them pick up but I just can't call them anymore. I'm done.If not scratching your freshly painted walls and doing a good job on the carpet laying is the only important thing, then Magic Carpets will probably make you happy. If all that other stuff seems important then I would recommend looking elsewhere. I will not personally be working with them in the future.

Bob was great! He arrived on time on our original install date but found issues with the subfloor so could not install. My husband fixed the issues over the weekend and I rescheduled with Katie for him to come on Tuesday the 8th in the morning. Well, much to our surprise, we had to abruptly leave because our baby decided to arrive 3 weeks early and we had to leave for the hospital right when he got here. My mom drove over so she could be available to him if needed. Mid day she ended up having to pick up my 9 year old from school due to a migraine as well. Hectic day but Bob was great, even helped get my son an ice pack for his headache out of the freezer for him since they couldn’t go upstairs. We came home with the new baby on Friday and were so happy the house was no longer in shambles!

What an awesome, easy & enjoyable experience. After calling Costco, we had an incredible designer team come out and show us the best options for our space (CJ) She nailed it!! Our floors look incredible!Our installation technicians were punctual, professional, positive & an absolute joy to have in our home for the few days of installation (we had both carpet & hardwood jobs). Very poor in follow up, installer damaged the dryer vent and reinstalled it damaged. Allowing exhaust into room. Called three times without anyone returning my calls as I had the vent repaired by professional installer. Failed to compensate me for poor workmanship that caused exhaust into laundry room instead of outdoors. Will never buy from them again

He informed me that a service technician was scheduled to come out the following week to correctly reinstall the dryer vent and he was also going to have someone else come to determine costs to repair damaged drywall/other areas.I asked the customer to give me a call back after both technicians had visited his home so that we could properly reimburse him for all costs. I waited a week but did not hear back from Jim so I reached out via phone and LVM for him to call back. I never received a call back or any information regarding costs to be reimbursed.I tried calling Jim again today (10/28/21) and got no answer. I LVM and informed him that we want to make things right and get him reimbursed entirely.Magic Carpets appreciates Mr. Adams as a customer, and per the first conversation... we agreed to reimburse for the dryer and drywall issues. Mr. Adam just sent the repair invoice , and Magic Carpets is issuing a check for the repairs.More

We went through Costco and due to a family emergency we had to change the date to the same week. Said was our tech and he went above and beyond. We weren't planning on having the flooring go into our furnace room but he moved all of the stuff we piled up in there and put the flooring in about 3 feet. Very very happy with his expert craftsmanship.

I had an excellent experience with Magic Carpets! We decided to go through Costco to get new carpet for my parent's house before it went on the market. Costco has incredibly high standards for their vendors and is not easy to be on their vendor list. Service was top notch every step of the way. Kashay came to the house and helped us make our selection. Sarah did a great job keeping us informed about installation times, expectations etc. Pablo and his crew did a beautiful job with the installation. He asked great questions and made sure we knew what size roll was being used in each room as well as the style we wanted on the steps. Most importantly, they did a fabulous job cleaning up after the install was complete. I would (and will,) recommend Magic Carpets as well as Pablo and his crew to anyone. Well done!

I was pleased with my purchase and the entire process with Shaw. Kashia helped me get my order in promptly and Inloved that it could be done at my house. Matt and Eric installed hard surface flooring in my office today. They were prompt, polite, professional and proficient. We had worked with Magic Carpets several years ago and had a 5 star experience from start to finish. 5 years later and our carpet looks great.We obviously decided to use them again for our master bedroom. I"m not sure what has happened since then, but here are a pros and cons in 2020.Pros:-they were friendly at the store-MaryPat (designer) came out to our house, showed us options, talked us through all the pros and cons, and made us feel comfortable about our choice-the carpet itself looks good (mostly)Cons:-only one carpet installer came (he had to call his boss in St Paul to come over and help)--they had said it was a half day job and it turned into a 8:00-5:45 job. My husband had to spend the whole day at home.-the seams still haven't "laid down" like they are supposed to--it is super obvious where they all are-one seam didn't get taped down--I literally tripped over it and pieces of carpet were shedding off the edges. We called on a Friday about it.-5 voicemail messages asking for someone to call and glue down the seam (or fix it). It is now the next Thursday and still no return phone calls (and obviously the seam hasn't been fixed).Yes, the carpet looks good, but when we buy carpet, we buy the service as much as the carpet and it failed miserably. Unless something is done to rectify this soon, we won't consider recommending them or using them again. (**Will edit if we get a response)

Magic Carpets apologizes. Steve our installer, has called twice to a phone # ending in 7301 and left voice mails. THIS WAS THE WRONG PHONE NUMBER, and Steve will be reaching out again today, to phone number ending in 7303, to schedule repair. We are grateful that this was brought to our attention.

Just had my walls painted, hired these guys to install new carpets. They messed up several walls during the installation. I text the guy asking what he was going to do about my walls...no response. Don't use these guys, go with another company.

This firm made a mistake on install and ruined a threshold. When I asked for a replacement, the owner said no. I told him to replace carpet and I would pay, or tear out and take away. I had to get the Plymouth police involved. Threatened my life.

I got several quotes before choosing Magic for my carpet project, which was a large family room and a set of stairs. I'm happy with the outcome because (1) they were the lowest price, AND (2) this carpet is twice as good as the other bids, with a face weight of 65 ounces compared to around 30 from the other vendors! Removing the old stuff was extra difficult because it was glued down. They had to come back a second time to do the stairs because they didn't have enough carpet with them the first time. After the stairs were done, I had some creases that would not come out, but they scheduled the repair immediately and they came out the very next day and fixed it perfectly. The installers were friendly and professional. Such nice boys. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because it took a couple of visits, but the final outcome is perfect and beautiful, super high quality carpet, and was under budget. And they moved the furniture and did not bang up any of the trim. Would definitely use them again!

Horrible just poor attention to follow up and communication. My mother and father in law had a scheduled appointment over the weekend that ended up being a no call no show. As he tried tried to get in touch with the rep from their company, no answer no return call.The no call no show ended up putting my father in laws business behind schedule, almost ruining his credibility with his client and all that the reps there could do was say "sorry, I wasn't there over the weekend" with a chuckle between her and her co worker at my mother in law when she tried to express how upset she was.I had never been to this crummy looking carpet shop until today but I guess the "magic" in their carpet business seems to be appealing to the disappearance of customers and potentials. Stick to bigger businesses people, at least they show up.

Very sorry to read you had a horrible experience in a Shaw Flooring Store. Shaw is the worlds largest manufacturer of carpet, and many stores in the Twin Cities carry Shaw products. Very possible that the store you are describing, is not Magic Carpets.More

I stopped in and the older lady "working" was rude. Pretty much ignored us and waved us away. When I asked if they had prices anywhere, all she said was no and kept walking. Then I had to find her to ask another basic question and she seemed bothered and said well I'm the only one here. Ugh I'll go see if someone else can help you (how do you do that if you're the only one there?). She walked away leaving us hanging so we just left. Great customer service..... said sarcastically!

We went through Costco/Shaw/Magic Carpets a few years back and it worked out OK, so we tried them again this spring when we moved. We needed new flooring in two adjoining rooms (dining room & living room), the carpet install and the installer were terribly, our house is damaged, we have no satisfaction, and if I could do it over again I would not use Magic Carpets.The first day went fine, the second day was the carpet installation. A single installer showed up and had difficulty moving the furniture (furniture moving was paid for) by himself, he didn't have or use dollies or furniture gliders. He put some of our leather furniture on end and dragged it across stone floors, which roughed/nicked up the leather in multiple places. He dragged heavy furniture across a finished slate foyer (no wheels, no dollies, no gliders) and we have multiple scratches that won't come out of the slate now. He was angry and verbally abusive to my spouse about the entire install, particularly during the first portion of the job, when he was moving furniture. The job may have been understaffed but that's not our fault, his attitude isn't what we paid for, and I definitely didn't pay $4500+ to have a 51-year old stone foyer gouged up or my furniture nicked and dinged.Lastly, the carpet install sucked and was unacceptable. The transition wasn't installed correctly at all - you can see in the attached pic the carpet is hanging loose. That wasn't days later - that's how it looked that night when I got home. Magic Carpet wasn't able to come out and fix it for several days, and their fix was temporary at best. Every time you walked near or on the transition it made a loud cracking noise and separated from whatever was holding it in. A new transition took several weeks to obtain and install. I have no idea how a single strip of plastic can take weeks to arrive.Management at Magic Carpets has been singularly unhelpful. Our floors are still gouged up, our furniture is still roughed up, and they confronted my wife hard about my claim of verbal abuse by the installer. Once they got her to agree "he wasn't abusive to her", the installer's bad attitude was no longer a topic.At this point, I'll never use Costco/Shaw/Magic Carpets again for flooring. Worst experience ever.

Original installation was completed April 25, 2018. Magic Carpets sent a representative out to Schoenhofen home on 5-1-2018. Transition piece was on back order from manufacturer, but was installed on 5-31-2018. At the visit on 5-1-2018 our representative also asked Mrs. Schoenhofen regarding the statement that our installer was verbally abusive and her exact comment was "installer was not verbally abusive, but seemed to have a bad attitude". We addressed this with specific installer. At the 5-1-2018 meeting we asked for a repair estimate to fix scratches in entry flooring, but have not as yet, received this estimate.More

My spouse and I recently moved into a large 1921 Colonial style home after living in a small condo and needed area rugs. We figured We were on out own in choosing them and stopped at Magic Carpets to start the search. To my surprise they told us a Designer would actually come to our home free of charge to see the space, colors and style of the rooms and then we would meet again at the showroom to select the new rugs.Our Designer Mark (great name!) knew immediately that we needed 2 8x10 rugs in a classic and timeless style with the color navy blue in both to connect the rooms to one another, something I never would have thought to do. They delivered the rugs to our home for a very nominal fee and placed the rug pads and rugs in place.The rugs look amazing and set the tone for the furnishings and accessories in the rooms. Mark will definitely be helping us with all the rest of our flooring needs as we get our new home set up.

We recently purchased carpeting from Magic Carpets for a bedroom and staircase in our home and hired them to install it. The price was approximately $1,900, which we thought relative to other pricing we had seen signaled a premium product.We were given a 90 minute window during which the installer would show up and made arrangements not to be at work during that time for a period of time thereafter. The installer showed up 2 hours late. No warning call. No check-in to say he would miss the window. No apology on arrival either.The carpet that was installed was good quality and the quality of installation was adequate (though spacing between the end of the carpeting and the staircase edge was slightly uneven, I probably wouldn't have noticed this had I not been upset about the late show and lack of apology). The carpet is soft and looks to be of good quality, and it looks nice.When I called to express my dissatisfaction with the late arrival, the company was not very apologetic. I was told that we had called at the end of the window and "didn't seem too angry" so they thought everything was fine. They said that "they got the job done the same day" so they didn't think it was that big a deal that they had missed the window by a couple hours. Not the biggest deal in the world, but not very respectful of their customers' time either.They asked what I wanted to resolve the situation and I asked for a discount of some kind. They offered an area rug, which I told them we had no need or desire for. From their point of view, that closed the matter.I am satisfied with the carpeting we bought but dissatisfied with Magic Carpets' customer service and what I perceive as a lack of respect for its customers and their time.

I have been waiting for over 3 months to have the new carpet they put in restretched there is a big bubble in the carpet. every time I call they say they will have someone out as soon as possible. Today again they were suppose to stop by. Still no show. Very disappointed. They don't even deserve a star but I can't post this without putting one star on the post.

We replaced 2000 square feet of carpet in our house after a water leak in our basement. Phil came by and we explained our desires and expectations for the carpet. He told us he thought he knew what we were looking for and brought one sample in and we were SOLD on it. They had it installed two days later-perfectly. I compared pricing with Lowe's and Home Depot and I am confident we ended up with a better product and around $1 less per square foot with Magic Carpet. This is the second time they have installed flooring for us and would strongly recommend Magic Carpet product and service.

We had GREAT service from start to finish. Someone came to the house with a nice variety of samples. The carpet layers were here on time and finished in a very reasonable amount of time. The best part is they include furniture moving with the cost!!!

I had quite a bit of carpet replaced this week at my home, and the young men who came to remove the old carpet and install the new carpet were courteous, skilled, and cleaned up afterwards very nicely. They even moved some of the larger furniture for me. The prices at Magic Carpets are extremely competitive and no added charges for stairs, etc. like the "Free" installation companies hit you for. The carpet they helped me picked out is beautiful and only took at week to have installed once I made a decision. I am very happy and will have them back soon to do a few more rooms.

The folks at Shaw Magic Carpets were absolutely excellent to work, with and we give them an A++ rating! They recently helped us complete a remodeling project to our home. We were in a time crunch, and local stores told us it would take WEEKS to get our flooring ordered and installed. After visiting several flooring stores in the area, we were thrilled when Magic Carpet was able to come out to measure our job just one day after our request, and then install our whole house carpet within a week, and finish our bathroom floor the very next day --- at a much lower cost than local competitors!! We found them to be extremely easy to work with, willing to do whatever was needed to get the job done, and frankly a pure pleasure. They had excellent communication, helped us come in under budget, and completed the project in a very professional manner. We could not recommend them more highly to anyone looking for flooring in the metro area! What a breath of fresh air to work with such a positive, professional, caring team who understand what customer service is all about!!

Overall, we had a pretty awful experience with our carpet install.There were numerous breakdowns in communication between the sales staff and the installers, which resulted in missing our target deadline for having the install completed (which we communicated numerous times to the sales staff).Additionally, we found a foreign object that was under the new carpet. After sending someone to fix this issue, there was yet another communication breakdown and it wasn't fixed. Once we took it upon ourselves to resolve it ourselves, we found that it was a piece of loose ceramic tile that the installers didn't notice at all and just put the carpet over.We communicated our disappointment to the company and as of this writing, we haven't heard a single response back. No apology, no sense of concern, not even "I'm looking into this".If you're reading this, there's a good possibility that you were directed to the company via their connection to Costco and you'd like to get 10% back on a Costco card. Find someone else.

Magic Carpets response to dissatisfied review – Knocked over Plant! A professional carpet cleaner was dispatched to clean up the spilt dirt, and that area came totally clean. Customer was very happy, because in addition to the dirt area, a few other spots were cleaned, at no charge. Phone calls were returned, some times several times a day. We did not originally install this carpet, but were only called upon to do a restretch, which our installer did not feel would hold, due to the poor condition of the carpet.

Very Dissatisfied Customer – I called Magic Carpets in Brooklyn Park to come out and stretch a small area of carpet. Installers came to my home and knocked over a fairly large plant in the corner of this room. The plant had been watered, so the dirt from the plant spilled and made a 3X3ft.stain on my carpet. After that happened, the installer stopped the stretching he was doing and said that the carpet could not be stretched. Long story, short: The owner would not return my phone calls after over 10 attempts to reach him. He would not fix this problem. I finally called another carpet business and they came out and stretched the carpeting even thought Magic Carpet installer insisted the carpeting could not be stretched! All I got from Magic Carpets was poor customer service and poor work from the installers. I would never use this carpet business again.
