5 days ago Phyllis B. I had Reimer come in to stretch my carpet which after several years of cleaning, vacuuming, etc. It was bound to happen. The carpet reps came in, moved furniture, explained what they had to do and proceeded to do a great job. I was amazed considering I had had installed a carpet with a different color border. You cannot tell anything was fixed. The guys were also extremely polite and professional. From my first call to sighing the paperwork at the end was a good experience.

3 weeks ago The carpet we picked on samples was not the same color as the carpet they delivered and when they tried to install it, after waiting over 3 weeks, we told them it was wrong color and the installers were instructed to finish installing it. Reimer did not even want to try and resolve the problem for another week until we complained we didnt want to want another week. They sent Mike a manager over to collect a sample two days later and he even said it wasnt the same color we picked (as we had pictures of the sample we choose). Now Reimer floors says there was no mistake and wants us to pay the full price or they will sue us. Kathy at customer service was absolutely no help and wouldnt even return our calls. She wanted us to wait 2 weeks to even have the carpet color looked at. We even caught Kathy lying to us and saying she left for the day when a manager said she was there. This went on for over 3 weeks and they didnt want to resolve the issue... now that they want the rest of their money, they want to call us back. Would not recommend - horrible customer service if you have a problem & especially if you get Kathy. They way she talked to us, I cant believe she even has a job. How are you in customer service and avoid people calls and are rude to them? This was not our mistake but either the salesman Bruce messed up or the samples were incorrect on the board. Funny that our salesman Bruce (who showed us the samples and wrote down the kind of carpet) was never involved with the mistake of color and was never even called to bring the sample over we choose. Reimer did not care and did not want to be bothered until they wanted their money. We personally called Paul Reimer and he was never in, and he never called us back we had to keep calling and he basically pawned us on to customer service Kathy who was awful to deal with. I would go with another floor company if your looking for carpet.

Dispatch was notified of the color concern when installation was almost completed. Immediately, we scheduled a Service Technician to visit your home (7/26) to collect a sample and internally, we ordered another sample from the carpet mill to start a color claim. Our Service department attempted to contact the home phone number and Mrs. cell phone several times to discuss the color concern and options (7/27, 8/1, 8/3, 8/6, 8/9). Your order brought to my attention on 8/9. I spent a week trying to contact you at the number listed on the order without any return phone call. On August 25th, I sent a letter to your home requesting payment or response by August 27th. I signed the letter and requested that you contact me directly. I am in the store from7AM – 6PM Monday Thru Saturday. Reception was notified to page or interrupt me should you call. While I hear your frustration, I hope you see that our team has taken reasonable steps to address your concern and contact you. I was hoping to reach you last week to explain our exclusive 30-Day customer satisfaction guarantee that would enable you to replace your carpet. Your only obligation under the guarantee is to pay for labor. If you would like to proceed with this option, we would be happy to work with you to accommodate the labor cost. However, this is time sensitive and requires that we initiate your guarantee by 8/30/18. If we do not hear from you we have no other option than to assume you accept the carpet as is and the remaining balance is due immediately. Please contact the store and request to speak with me. last month I have used Riemer Floors in the past. They did such an excellent job then, that when it was time to do a makeover in my new condo, there was no one else I would contact. Tim Michon, our sales rep was awesome. He came to my condo, took measurements and when we visited the showroom, he had an idea of what I was looking for. The timeline was great and now I have beautifully installed (by Todd) Armstrong vinyl plank flooring in my 2 bedrooms and loft area, plus beautiful new carpet in my stairways. I might add, the whole process was a wonderful experience, from the receptionist who answered my calls, to the dispatch department. They all work together and make an awesome team. I'll be back in the spring to complete my flooring makeover.

2 months ago They came and measured my home and never called back. I had to call multiple times to get any info. My information was not entered into the system so no other assicaiates could help me. After finally getting ahold of the original associate, my quote was not prepared and when they emailed it to me, they refused to find an installer. This took place over a couple of weeks. A complete waste of my time.

When they finally did find me, two weeks later, the quote was still not prepared, even though my sample was already chosen and measurements already taken. When emailed the quote, they refused to find an installer. Completely unprofessional.
2 months ago Ms. Mulvihill, I want to apologize sincerely for the delay you experienced in receiving a quote and communication regarding your carpet job. We always strive to be one step ahead of our customers and clearly did not meet that expectation here. Every now and then we run into conditions in homes that must be remediated for the safety of our sub-contractors. I was advised by your Sales Specialist that there was an excessive amount of pet waste as evidenced by a strong odor. Initially, we had hoped if you had the existing material removed we could find a sub-contractor to install the new material. However, our sub-contractors were unwilling to take on the potentially hazardous job. I sincerely apologize that we could not meet your expectations or take on your flooring renovations. Paul Riemer

3 months ago We started out looking at laminate flooring for a couple of rooms & finally decided to go with carpeting. Dave G., was patient & congenial. After we made a final decision, i noticed another section of carpeting that i already have in other areas of my home that i wish was brought to my attention while initially looking. All in all, it still was a good experience and we are happy with the carpeting AND the padding that Dave informed us was part of a limited time promotional as a free inclusion! The installers, Rick & Dave, work very well as a team - are very experienced & conscientious and appears that they are long-time loyal workers employed by Riemer Floors - which speaks volumes about a company these days!

5 months ago These guys asked me to come in for an interview to repair all types of floors from defective installations, Due to originally employing unqualified people to do skilled professions (obviously). I turned them down as they offered 17$ hr to do repairs that any journeyman (myself included) would charge hundreds for in order to save a 30k installation from entire replacement or a lawsuit. Pay the pros like pros and they can save your business. I DONT WORK FOR IMMIGRANT WAGES. SORRY. 17$ to do REPAIRS??? ARE YOU INSANE? And they are still calling me... Which tells me they need to get realistic and offer better wages for their repair artists. As no one has filled the spots yet. Such a prestigious area they service and have huge installation problems??? Simple solution: stop being cheap in your idea that installers are not your backbone, bread n butter and golden goose. Because GOOD ONES ARE. And, well keep hiring untrained and unqualified crews and you can expect more of what you have now.

7 months ago We have purchased most of our carpet here over the last 20 years. (I think my parents have too, their whole lives). This place is family owned and operated for generations, so customer service is outstanding. The quality of the carpet and the broad selection at Riemer is second to none. We have tried shopping at Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, empire, etc. and the quality and selection (and value for the money) is just not there. Ps karistan is the best brand of carpet, in my opinion. It's beautiful, it's soft and it holds up well with regular cleaning (modernistic). We had an off-white carpet for 17 years with children and pets and other than a few spots, it's still pretty amazing. lastly: great value for the money. They have good sales. A tip: consider going for a mid grade carpet in the highest grade padding! Unless all you care about is truly lowest price, you will be very very happy with Riemer floors.

7 months ago Went to the floor room and spoke with the co-owner about my flooring project. He was very helpful which allowed me to easily select the flooring I wanted. Sales person was sent out to do measurements. He showed up 30 minutes late but did call to explain which was fine. After taking measurements he promised to send out a quote within 2 days and send samples. 4 days went buy without a quote. I actually had to call the co-owner to ask about the quote. It was then sent same day. The wood samples arrived after 2 weeks and the carpet samples never arrived. It was clear there was a pattern and the project wasn't going to go well if I moved forward. I was very disappointed in their service which is a shame because the quote was within reason and I really wanted to use them based on people I know that have had success with them.

8 months ago I had a problem with the installation in one of my rooms, there is a noticeable buckled crease in the floor. I called to let the company know. Someone came out to look at it mid-December and said they needed to come back to fix it, and that someone would be giving me a call to schedule the appointment in January. I haven't heard back from them yet. (Up until that point, the experience had been good.)

8 months ago Was prepared to pay for a top job but was disappointed that job was left incomplete, snag list was just ignored and there was little or no interest in us as a customer once the money was collected. Now an issue has arisen with the “crown” of a step beginning to separate, am intrigued as to see how customer oriented Riemer Floor will be.

last year I had carpet installed this week from Riemer Floors.. I am very very pleased.. I have many stays & landings.. The carpet I chose had a difficult pattern to match.. The installers, Mario & Brad did a perfect job.. Dave Gola was my salesperson & did my measuring.. They were professional & great with moving my furniture & cleaning up.. I would recommend Riemer!!

last year We have a relatively new hardwood floor in our new house, and needed warranty service due to some squeaks that popped up and a plank that needed to be replaced. Riemer sent Maik Trendel, and he did an amazing job. He took his time, got rid of each and every squeak. Some of the planks were not as bad and I did not care about, but he spent more time than needed just to get them up to his own standard. If you are a perfectionist or have had bad luck with any of the other techs, ask for "Maik" and I think you will be impressed.

2 years ago From start to finish, working with Riemer floors on my recently purchased home remodel project has been a pleasure. Our sales person (Connie) is very professional and offers excellent suggestions and options on flooring. She starts the project and ends the project at your side. Her follow-up and follow through are top notch. The installers were prompt, courteous, and professional. Brad was polite and accommodating. He and Mario worked diligently and with precision throughout the entire day to complete my project. I look forward to working with the entire team again soon.

2 years ago Great Kitchen Backsplash and Service! "My Wife and I have now used Riemer floors multiple times. They helped us with carpet in our original home. When we moved to a newer home 4 years ago they did a great job matching and extending the hardwood floors to connect the kitchen to the front foyer (previous owners had carpet). They also provided new carpet to a few high traffic areas. It still looks new 4 years later! Just this month we went back to get a backsplash installed in our kitchen after upgrading to granite countertops. The service was excellent with Dave leading our design efforts. He came to the house, helped us pick out a design (Tavertine tile in Baja Cream color) and had the crew out shortly after. The crew was friendly and did a wonderful job installing it. We couldn't be happier!! Thank you Dave and the Riemer Floors Team!! Jon and Alexis."

Ending up with Shaggerific and Love the carpeting. The installation team as well worked very hard in bringing it up 3 flights and was great in laying it down.

2 years ago I have used Reimer Floors for over 20 years in 9 different homes. They have done dozens of different installs at these locations. I have never had a single problem. They do quality work and stand behind their products. Their sales staff is knowledgable and trustworthy. Carl is my salesman who is wonderful to work with. The front desk staff is easy and friendly, the installation crews are great and scheduling is easy.

2 years ago We had such a great experience with this company! Carl was fantastic! He came to our house after a phone consultation with several samples matching the paint and thickness that we discussed. He provided us a quote the same day, came out and measured everything, and had us come into the store to discuss alternatives to the carpet he picked; we ended up going with his selection anyways. We will be giving Carl a call when we decide to finish our basement.

2 years ago Rude sales staff. I visited Reimers to look at potential wood flooring for my family room and kitchen. Sales person was very rude and condescending. Wanted to know the square footage of my house. I told him that I needed wood floors just for the kitchen and the family room. He demanded to know what area I lived in and the total square footage of our house. It was an unnecessary question besides the fact that he left me in the showroom in order to talk to another sales associate in the front of the store for 15 minutes. I finally left when I realize the customer service was lousy. Go to Telesco Floors. They are wonderful to work with and have a much better selection.
2 years ago Business Owner Dear Linda, I sincerely apolgoize that you felt our sales associate was rude. I never want a customer to leave our showroom feeling disastisified or unhappy. Myself or one of my brothers (Dennis and Keith) are always at the store, I wish you would have asked for one of us at the time so we could address your concerns immediately. While assisting customers with their home remodeling project it is useful to know the square footage as well as location to ensure we are guiding you towards products that will be compatible with your home and project. Homes have different construction types based on location which would impact the flooring product and installation process. For example, homes on a lake are often on concrete slabs due to the water table, where as other homes may be suspended with a basement below; both impact the products that would be most suitable for your space. We often ask customers the total square footage to estimate the area being remodeled. For example, a 3,000 square foot colonial would have about 1,500 square feet per floor and a kitchen would be about 30% of that or 450 square feet. I apologize that you were put-off by the questions, but I assure you the salesperson had the best interest of a successful remodel in mind. I also understand your salesperson may have stepped away, and I do acknoweledge that the communication with you could have been better. I believe the other salesmen you are referring to him conversing with was our hard surface Operations Manager. There was a matter occuring at a job-site and our Operations Manager needed the input from the salesperson to make sure the job went smoothly. I have reiterated the importance of open communication with the entire sales staff when stepping away from a customer. 2 years ago I have used Riemer Floors for the past 20 years in 9 different homes. They have done dozens of different installs at these locations. I have never had a single problem. They do quality work and stand behind their products. Their sales staff is knowledgable and trust worthy. Karl my salesman is wonderful to work with and I highly recommend him. The rest of the team from installers to the front desk staff are all friendly and helpful.

2 years ago From the onset of the showroom experience to the installation of the carpet in my home (entire second floor and stairs) Riemer Floors exceeded my expectations. The salesman including the owner helped my wife and I select the perfect carpeting for our home. Riemer was also flexible when I had to change my install date several times due to a stair project in my home. Lastly the installers were fantastic. Not one scratch, dent, scuff, etc. to walls or molding. The carpet install on the newly constructed stairs is amazing. The look and feel of the new carpeting is wonderful and transformed the look of our home. I look for companies with superior customer service and Riemer has it. 2 years ago """Elite"" status not related to quality installation" "This is the only Armstrong Elite Dealer in Michigan, and we were misled into believing that with this ranking the company would do a quality installation of less than 100 square feet of luxury vinyl planking. Due to extremely poor management, the company managed to extend a day and half of work over a six day period, during which we had no fully functioning kitchen. In the process they did $280 worth of wallpaper damage. Armstrong's ""Elite"" rating is obviously no indication of the quality of work the company does, and is presumably only an indication of a high dollar sales amount."

2 years ago We moved into a brand new construction home with Reimer being the contractor for the floors. Riemer installed hardwood and carpeting. Our carpeting looked great and the transitions from hardwood to carpeting were done beautifully. As the house settled and we went through Michigan's four seasons, we noticed some contracting and expanding of our wood floors. At our one year list to the builder we put this issue on the list. Riemer set an appointment to see what was happening to our floors . We had also put two divits in the floor that bothered us. A couple weeks later, our flooring concerns were addressed and fixed! In all, we had a great experience. My experience is that Riemer wants to make sure the customer is completely satisfied with their products. If you have any flooring needs, Riemer is your place to go! When we are ready to finish our basement, I will call on Riemer for our flooring. The installation and service has made me a customer for life!

Came out and measured, gave us a fair and timely stimate, and scheduled installation date that was convenient for us. 3 years ago Our salesman, Loren, was excellent, helping us narrow down our carpet selections among the thousands of choices. He was pleasant and attentive without pressuring us. He ordered samples we could have at home which really helped with the decision making. The team of two Asian men (I did not get their names) who installed our carpet were awesome! They showed up several hours later than planned, but Reimer kept us informed of the delay, which was due to the previous customer not having their room prepared before their arrival. Once they did come to our house I was afraid they may rush through the job to get home on time, but that was not the case at all. They took their time and did a very professional quality job. These guys were meticulous! The padding and carpet were installed perfectly and without a single scratch to our walls or baseboards. You could tell they took great pride in their work. They were the ultimate professionals! I highly recommend getting carpet from Reimer.

4 years ago Took them a year to address a carpet/installation concern, which is still not resolved and, I've come to realize, never will be. They do not stand behind their product, do not return phone calls, are dishonest, and apparently have no interest in customer retention. I will be replacing their shoddy work using another company. If you are in the market for flooring, use any company but this one.

They when they did show up they broke a painting and majorly scratched the paint and drywall. When I complained they kept passing the buck to someone else. 4 years ago Having lived in the area all my life, today is the first time I have been inside Riemer Floors, and sad to report, it was not a pleasant visit.I spent one hour (1pm - 2pm) looking at LVP flooring and not one person asked me if I needed help, offered to find someone to help me, or even acknowledged my presence in the store. Albeit, I was towards the back of the store, but at least 2 salesman saw me when I entered the store, a third salesman was standing right next to me inthe LVP flooring area (helping another couple when I initially entered), and at least 5 other employees passed by me as they entered/exited the employee lounge area, and none of these people apparently were concerned that I was alone looking at samples for an hour.The ONLY time anything was said to me was as I was heading towards the door to leave. A salesman said, "someone did help you, didn't they?" and I replied, "no, but I will go somewhere else where they will."I pride myself on the customer service I provided throughout my career and it is disheartening to see this become a lost art in today's world. I just read a review in Yelp posted 3/11/2014 of the same type of complaint at Riemer. One of the owners even responded and said he'd bring it to the staff's attention so as not to have this type of customer treatment reoccur. I wonder if that staff meeting ever took place.I know that selling 1000 sq ft of flooring will not make or break Riemer Floors, but if anyone should ask me for a flooring reference, I will be happy to say I was greeted in a very friendly & helpful manner elsewhere (Harbor Floors in Keego Harbor) and they will more than likely get my business. I am so sorry that your time in our Showroom was a negative one and that no one offered to help you until you were leaving. Our showroom is a low-pressure environment and because of this many of our customers browse on their own and then approach the Receptionist located at the front when they are ready for assistance. While this is certainly no excuse for not being offered help when you first walked in, I think it's the reason no one approached you while you were browsing in the back room. It is our policy that all customers feel relaxed and never pressured and it is not unusual to see a customer browsing multiple samples for long periods of time until they are ready to ask for assistance. We take all feedback seriously and I can assure you that the sales meeting discussing our Yelp review did take place and that another will take place regarding your review. We use all feedback to better ourselves as a company and your feedback is no exception. Today we will be putting up signs throughout our showroom indicating our low-pressure browsing policy and directing customers ready for assistance to the Receptionist so that an incident like yours does not occur again. There is no job too small or big for our company and I wish you would have approached someone in the building and told them you needed assistance. There is always a Riemer in the building and we personally assure that our customers are taken care of. It's the reason we've stayed in business for over 68 years. 5 years ago We didnt end up hiring Riemer, so I cannot comment on the quality of their service. My review is about the shopping experience. Several people referred us to Riemer when we were looking for carpeting installation in our newly purchased home. We are not from the US, so all these home projects are a little bit intimidating. And when it comes to carpeting, we are no experts. When we arrived at Riemer, we didn't feel "the love". It felt like the sales associate was not interested in our business at all. We were looking for some tips, some consultation... But we got nothing from him. We had to do all the work. He came across as arrogant, not interested and not helpful. He kept on repeating how Riemer has been in business for very long and has a great reputation. Not interested in giving us a great shopping experience. We anyways decided on asking him to give us a quote and arranged a meeting at the house. He arrived on time, but his "not interested" attitude was still present. He was even rude to me. When he was taking measurements and I was in the middle of the room, instead of asking me politely to move, he would give me a nudge with his arm! He didn't come up with suggestions, alternatives or anything like it. We found out that carpets and carpet installation are pretty much a commodity, so service is the deal maker. Based on this, we decided to not hire Riemer. On the other hand, we had a GREAT service experience at their competitor (Mc Leod Carpet One), who we ended up hiring.

5 years ago Bad experience. First, the decided to show up 2 days late. Second, they smashed a painting and didn't clean up the broken glass. Third they scratched my wall moving the roll of carpet. Their solution and customer service was horrific. Everyone kept passing the buck. When I finally got a hold of the owners - Paul/ Dennis they couldn't have cared less. It was normal business for them. I am usually an advocate for small business but this was terrible.

I assure you that I care that your experience with Riemer meets your expectations and I am truly sorry I did not convey that properly when we spoke. Unfortunately, installation delays occur occasionally due to illness. Although we do everything we can to avoid this because we know how it inconveniences the customer, sometimes we do not have another option. Additionally, your second day delay was due to a mis-communication of specialty furniture that needed professional removal. We could not remove the carpet safely until day three. I am taking your feedback and will be ensuring that removal and installation responsibilities of the customer are available on our website and that all of our sales people properly communicate this to the customer as well. Your painting is at a specialty repair shop and will be returned to you (at no cost of course) as soon as any and all necessary repairs are completed. 6 years ago Lucky me, they're open till 9:00 on Monday night. Whoopee. No fooball game! Okay, so I hate shopping, but boy do I like looking for wood flooring(not really). Well, we have a wedding to get ready for in September so we thought we would get the house ready for a lot of activity in the next nine months. We have always wanted wood floors so now is the best time. Riemer has the largest and the best selections for hardwood floors(carpeting too). We had a salesman by the name Tom, a name I'll never forget. He was helpful in guiding us in the direction we needed to what we thought we wanted. They gave us sample squares (2'x2') to see if we liked them in our house and lighting. Bring your sportute or truck as these wood floor samples are big and heavy. We decided on the color, wood type, and ordered. Installed when they said. They also offered store financing if needed. Now I can say I have a wood(y) and boy does it look great. Don't forget to ask for all the finishing touches. They'll know what they are to help you. Now I have more work, painting, curtains, moving furniture, wow, I'm already sore just thinking about it.
