I had a very strange experience with village carpet recently. I was looking for a price quote on a unique stair runner, like something i had seen online. The first person i spoke with, although nice, didnt seem very knowledgeable. After a few moments i was passed off to one of the owners. He showed me several options for what turned out to be somewhat custom. He jotted down a few price numbers on the runner. He then went to the back office leaving me sitting at a desk. He finally strolled out of the office talking on his cell, and announces that "I am going to Home Depot". Both salesperson #1 and I were shocked. The salesperson said "Well, I guess he's done." Dumbfounded, i got up and left. I believe in supporting local business. I try to shop Main St, instead of the big box, but the disregard for my business will be difficult to overcome. I wont be returning to that establishment.

Great friendly service from Mike and Charlie. Very helpful to help select a carpet without pressuring us. Came to measure and install quickly. Our rooms are funny shaped but the carpet looks and feels great. Went to AJ Rose at first but they were unhelpful.

It was great working with Mike and the team at Village Carpet. He was very helpful when choosing what we wanted and even came to the house the same day to measure. We ended up ordering a runner for our stairway and two area rugs for an upstairs hall. Had everything installed within two weeks and we couldn't be happier with the results. The installers were also very courteous and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Highly recommend!

Fantastic. One of the BEST experiences I have ever had. Easy to work with, no pressure, knowledgeable, professional, and super quick delivery. Walked into their showroom on Saturday 11/1. I was warmly greeted by both Mikes. Very pleasant, friendly, and easy to communicate with. Told them what we were looking for and they pointed out some options and then let us wonder without being hawked. I was also impressed that they started out by showing us the lowest cost items first (vs. trying to sell me the most expensive stuff they had). After wondering for a few minutes we picked out the carpet we wanted. Checkout was quick and painless. We were in the store for maybe 30 minutes total. They also delivered and installed the carpet runner just 4 days later. The install crew showed up on time, they were very friendly, and they got right to work. They installed the runner in just under an hour and did an excellent job on clean up (not a single piece of clean up was left). Again, one of the best experiences I have ever had. Strongly recommend. PS: I must mention that I had tried one of there competitors first (AJ Rose) it was a complete disaster. Spent over 3 months, 4-5 calls, 3 return trips to the store trying to get this same simple carpet runner installed. After multiple delays, mix ups, and failure to return a simple phone call ... I gave up, got my money back, and went straight to Village Carpet. If you are considering flooring I would stay away from AJ Rose and head straight to Village carpet. Oh ... and Village Carpet was cheaper than AJ Rose.

Our carpeting was worn and well over a decade old. We stopped by Village to get some samples and quotes. They were out the next day to measure and price it out for several different choices. Excellent selection of some quality floor products here and great pricing. They came out and removed the old carpet and installed the new carpet in a very large area in less than two days. They were beyond clean in the house and timely. Top notch service all around here. Very easy to find them in downtown Reading.

I purchased carpet about a year ago, and it frayed in a spot at the top of my stairs at the threshold. I called Village Carpet, worrying that they'd tell me the warranty was up or that it can't be fixed. Instead they were totally responsive and even came out the same day because they were in the area. They worked some magic, and It looks new. Very satisfying when companies have great service like this.
