These prices are for the product only. They don't include the price of carpet cushion (or other underlayment) or the price of installation, which can vary widely by region, by installer experience level, and by scheduling demands. You'll want to discuss with your salesperson the prices and options available to you on both cushion and installation.

You'll also want to note that some flooring retailers price their products by square foot and some by sqare yard. Make sure that you're comparing equal measurements when trying to decide on one choice over another.

Style Type

Loop: Create texture with uneven loops, or choose uncut level loops for high-traffic areas.

Pattern: Go for dramatic, unique visuals with loops and cuts of varying heights.

Texture: Create a less formal look with the smooth, level finish of twisted yarns.

Twist: Go for a soft, comfortable, casual look with this longer cut pile, also known as Frieze.

Face Weight

Face weight is measured as per unit area of pile yarn floor coverings according to ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) method D-5848. Due to several processes involved in manufacturing, such as shearing, the actual finished weight may reflect a variance of up to 7%. The weight is determined by compensating for the factor of commercial moisture regain, as defined in ASTM D-1909. The ASTM measurements are accepted industry norms and the most accurate means of determining face weight.
