Floor Care Center Floor Care Center How to Remove Plaster on Tile & Stone Method 1 Solvent method What You'll Need What you'll need: Bowl of water White cloth or paper towels Isopropyl Alcohol 70%, or odorless mineral spirits, or Goof Off pH neutral cleaner Scouring pad (Scotch-Brite™ pad= red only) or medium bristle brush(Brillo pads are not recommended, some can be too abrasive) Step 1 Blot with towel to remove excess spill Step 2 Apply clean water to a fresh cloth to clean the area. Be careful not to saturate the floor. Step 3 Take a dry white cloth to rub the stained area to make sure there is no more transfer. If spot is still visible, lightly mist a pH neutral cleaner onto the floor and wipe up with a clean dry cloth. Step 4 If stain remains, lightly mist or pour a cap-full of isopropyl alcohol (or odorless mineral spirits or Goof Off) onto the affected area and leave for 1 minute. Step 5 After 1 minute, lightly agitate the area with either a red Scotch Bright pad or a medium bristle brush. Using a harsher material could damage the floor. Step 6 Apply clean water to a fresh cloth to clean the area. Be careful not to saturate the floor. Step 7 Take a dry white cloth to rub the stained area to make sure there is no more transfer. If transfer is still visible, repeat method. Step 8 If stain is no longer visible, it is important to follow up with a pH neutral cleaner in order to neutralize the cleaner that was used. Lightly mist a pH neutral cleaner onto the floor and wipe up with a clean dry cloth. Allow to air dry. Step 9 If the stain isn’t removed after following these steps, the plank or tile may need to be replaced. Contact your local retailer for additional information.
