The first thing you see when you walk in our new house is the stairs to the left and the eye travels right up the stairs to the top floor. Installing a carpet runner on these stairs was one of the best decisions we made with this house. In my previous house, I did a DIY stair runner along with my DIY stair treads and loved the results. It’s something that I’ve always loved, having a stair runner with wood showing. So, when we bought this house, it already had carpet in place on the stairs and the right side of the stairs were stained too, so we went with the same foot print and added a gorgeous Shaw Floors carpet runner on the stairs.

We visited a Shaw Floors dealer in Adairsville and looked through many carpet samples looking for just the right one. Having so many beautiful patterns to choose from was hard, but we narrowed it down to one that we fell in love with. My husband, Mark, and I both love classic patterns and a herringbone design is one that we both love so much, so when we saw this one, True Event II in Carbon, we were hooked. There were so many colors to choose from, but we got several of them and brought them to our new house to make the choice and eventually decided on a black/charcoal color, to tie in with our black iron spindles on the staircase, as well as black accents around the house.

Lots of activity is lived on staircases and I wanted a tough carpet runner to stand the test of time. A patterned carpet is an extra bonus for not showing dirt and wear. The previous carpet was a light color and was showing its age. Our new runner has so much pizazz and stands out, but in a good way. We love it, it’s a show stopper!

The Shaw Floors installer came out and installed the runner in just a couple of hours and with a nice padding underneath, it’s soft and cushioned underfoot. It was just what we were looking for. Classy, sophisticated, patterned, and eye-catching. All of those things were important to us and we got just the outcome we were hoping for with our new Shaw Floors carpet runner. It sure makes for a welcoming staircase when people come to our house and we’ve gotten lots of compliments on it!

A pretty carpet runner really does make a huge difference in the look and feel of a home!
