DO NOT BUY from this business. They do not work with you or make it right for the customer. Abel ordered the wrong amount of tile so we will be stuck with almost $1500 worth of tile we don't need. Also after we picked up the order we discovered two boxes were missing. The company would not make it right and said it was our responsibility to count all the boxes. We did not know we needed to unpack all the pallets to count them! When the tile count was wrong, we were told it was also our responsibility to calculate the square footage. We are not professionals in the tile business. You are! That's why we went to you. No accountability or responsibility here.
This is a fly-by-night operation that you should absolutely avoid. I made a big mistake by hiring them and falling for Tony's (The owner) excuses. To summarize their problem, they do bad work and try to pass it off as good. They helped me refine a kitchen design I put together, install kitchen cabinets, and fabricate/install quartz countertops. Every little thing that could go wrong, went wrong and they made no effort to fix it the right way. First problem: Their communication sucks. I was given no start date nor finish date for the project. Tony just texted me one day saying it was starting the next day. Second problem: The cabinets they installed looked good but after removing the countertop (more on this later) the cabinets were scratched and dented under the quartz lip (CTF depot made these scratches when installing the countertop). The new fabricator also noted that the cabinets were not level (they used a very cool laser tool to show me this). One can also see all the screw holes in the top cabinets as they made no effort to countersink and hide them. Third problem: The finished and installed kitchen design had a huge flaw: The dishwasher opened into the refrigerator and visa versa. They were given the specs for both of these appliances before starting work and should have accommodated for this. Tony tried suggest that we cut the drywall behind the refrigerator to push it back a couple of more inches but this was unacceptable as the other side of the wall was a high traffic zone, plus it's pretty shady. They ended up compensating me for the difference between a countertop depth refrigerator and my current selection. Fourth: They blatantly disregarded manufacture recommendations when fabricating and installing the quartz countertop. The inside corners were radiused at 0" when the manufacturer requires at least 3/8". The bad fabrication resulted in all inside corners cracking. Their solution to this was to "weld" the corners, which is adding epoxy and leaving a visible line. I asked them to replace the countertops because the current state left me without a warranty but they refused. Their refusal forced me to write a demand letter, begin filing in small claims court, and make a CSLB complaint. If they weren't going to replace it, I'd have another company do it with their reimbursal. After CSLB got involved, they immediately reimbursed me to replace the countertop with another company but it shouldn't have had to come to that.

Awesome experience. I literally got an estimate on Wednesday evening after work and the entire large kitchen/family room & powder room were done by the following Wednesday. Able, Tony and their crew were AHEAD of schedule all the way. Baseboard detailing was beautiful.

Be wary of a potentially sub-professional quality of installation, and of equal significance, poor follow-up service. Carpet Tile & Flooring Depot installed ~1250sf of bamboo flooring in our home that we had purchased at Lowe's. Very soon after the installation we had trouble with significant buckling and cracking. We followed up with Dave at Carpet Tile & Flooring Depot and over several months of texts and emails, there was no real support to remedy the ongoing problems. After many months of trying to remediate the problems, Carpet Tile & Flooring Depot suggested we hire an independent professional flooring inspector to examine the installation and then they would proceed from there, based on those recommendations. We did follow their advice and hire and pay the $350 inspection fee. The report clearly attributes the problems to a poor installation job, that was sub-manufacturer's specs. It was also noticed that bamboo is a challenging wood to work with but that a proper installation according to manufacturer's specs would have avoided the problems we encountered. Per Carpet Tile & Flooring Depot's request, we sent them the independent report via registered mail. Despite their request that we hire the independent inspector and that they would consider the report, we never heard anything back, nor subsequent attempts to communicate with them. Cant say enough good things about this place and Nathan who helped us throughout the process. They not only had the best prices (and I compared similar or same products with 3 other places) but they were easy to work with and very friendly. We had a bit of a color mishap the day the carpet was supposed to go in, however, Nathan never argued with me or pointed fingers and put a rush on the correct color carpet and made it right! He even offered to have the installers put down the carpet that they came with just so that I wasnt left with bare floors until the new carpet came in! Great service, will use again and recommend to everyone! Thanks again nathan!

This is the second time I have purchased flooring from this location. Nathan Echave is so kind and consider as well as helpful I just can't say enough about the service I received. We worked with Veronica on our flooring order. She was great, always really responsive to emails and easy to get ahold of on the phone. She was able to price match a competitor's quote and she was able to fix an ordering snafu that happened when we ordered with a previous CTFD employee. We got Desert Oak instead of Mocha Oak floors. I signed off on the order, but didn't look at it closely enough. Even though I signed off on Desert Oak Veronica was able to fix the situation and get the right flooring ordered and delivered. Years later Veronica remembered me when I needed to order additional flooring when I remodeled my kitchen and was able to get the floor at my original cost even with me only needing to order 2 boxes.
We just finished our kitchen and guest bathroom remodel with Nathan and his team and we could not have been happier with everything they did. From measuring and design through finish everyone who worked in the remodel was terrific, professional and caring. When we started the project, Nathan gave us a start date and an approximate end date and a budget. To our complete amazement he was right on all three areas. Now Tony...who was the overall construction manager--he was incredible. He was on site on a very regular basis and always wanted to know if we were happy with everything and there was nothing he wouldn't or couldn't do if we asked. Whether it was the plumbing guy, the electrician, the tiling guy, painters or cabinet guys, every Workman who came to the house really cared about their work, and wanted to make sure we were happy. At the office, Lourdes was so professional and helpful from scheduling to billing questions she was always helpful. This was by far the best remodel company we have used in San Diego and very reasonably priced. We wish we had found them before and would definitely use them again.
I was happy with the materials, quality of work and short time in which my floor was replaced. The price was much better than another company from which I got an estimate. The workmen dealt with the difficulty of removing the first floor well, and I did not have to pay that much above the estimate for what was found underneath.

Once they get your order and credit card info the customer service goes out the window. Employees promise to call you back with information before they leave work for 2 days but they don't and then you are scrambling to find out information from other sales people, they forget part of your order and say "oops I forgot what color you wanted but didn't think about calling or emailing you to find out."

Disorganized and incompetent. The sales guy (Nathan) was also rude. 1st Trip- Ordered laminate flooring and stair noses. Sales guy orders the wrong (cheaper) stair noses. We go back in to renegotiate a discount since our contractor had already picked up and installed material. So far, no big deal. 2nd Trip- Ordered 7 boxes additional flooring to complete project, once I bring it home, one box is defective. We have to call and get a replacement. 3rd Trip- Go to pick up the replacement box for the defective box. It's the wrong material. We have to call and ask them to replace again 4th Trip- Go to pick up my one replacement again, the sales rep ordered an entire 7 boxes from the original invoice. I call to ask wtf is going on. Nathan says "he doesn't have time for this" and hangs up on me. I likely wouldn't have written this review if he hadn't done that. All of this while having to constantly reschedule contractors due to this company's inability to get an order right. If you care at all about your project's timeline, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I really wish I had reviewed Yelp before signing a contract with Carpet, Tile & Flooring Depot, Inc. (Morena Blvd). Our whole experience was disorganized, unprofessional and messy. From a total lack of respect for my schedule and the time frame of work to being straight lied to, I have never had a worse customer experience. The kitchen counter got installed, and the over hang is six inches too long. The retribution was to not charge me the 350 for the original overhang. So instead of making the delay any longer I accepted and now I have to live with a counter top too far into my dining room and looks horrible. They lied to me about delays. I had to continually list out their messy work and ask them to come back and come back and come back for the punchlist. The work was very sloppy and the communication was a disaster. I highly recommend you shop around for a better contractor.

Karen H. Nathan was very helpful on two occasions. We had Pro Flooring install the Porcelain wood grain tile in our house and they installed it within a few days of purchasing tile. The installer showed up on time and stayed on task and layed the tile within two days and grouted on the third day. Thank you Pro Flooring, I will tell all of my friends to use their services.

Nathan went above and beyond to help me with my hardwood, carpet and tile selections during my recent remodel. His product knowledge and quest to find the perfect materials for me were spot on. He listened to what I wanted, factored in my day-to-day living (major wear-and-tear from very active children and large dogs) and recommended products that would perform better than the original selections I had made all at a lower cost. The prices I received were WAY better than any other location I worked with during my quoting and estimating process too. His team did fantastic work on the installation; they were professional, courteous, and showed up on time. The other key factor during the remodel for me was when materials were needed more quickly, Nathan expedited the delivery for me to avoid any delays in progress. Five stars for every step of the process in working with this store! I will continue to work with them exclusively as they've earned my respect and loyalty.

Nathan is great. Overall, all my purchases went well. Here are the details: 1. I shopped about 15 stores in San Diego for tile. Carpet, Tile and Flooring Depot was able to beat or match prices. They have access to more tiles than are on display, so ask Nathan if he can get something. 2. I had CTFD install tile I bought at a big box retailer. I asked and Nathan agreed for a 7 day install. They took about 3 extra days, but it was worth it since they did a high quality job, making sure the 6"x24" tiles were laid evenly. They were neat too. 3. They sold and installed for me a quartz countertop. Great price. Quick turnaround. Good craftsmanship overall. The installer put a large scrape in my cabinet, but Nathan sent someone out to repair it and now it looks fine. Also, they had to make four seams, 2 on back and 2 on front of sink. This was to avoid me having to buy an additional slab. Good planning. I thought 2 of the 4 seams could be "cleaned up" so they sent someone to do that. Now it's good. I asked for some "scraps" for a ledge in shower and they did that for me. 4. A accident happened while I was picking up tile, but the owner quickly accepted responsibility and "made me good". Accidents happen, but it's how a company handles them that makes a difference. 5. Nathan is practically a one man show at the Morena location, but every time I stopped by unannounced, he found time for me. Because he is so popular, he couldn't always return my calls as soon as I would have liked, but behind the scene, he was working for me. He even delivered tile to my site on a late Friday. He goes the extra mile. These are good people to do business with. Mike

I have worked with Nathan for many years now. I have done 3 remodels with his help. He's been professional helpful and knowledgeable and it's made me feel less stress through all my remodel project. I do I miss having the store in Mission Gorge but I followed Nathan to New location and continue using him on all my projects. They have good show room and great prices.

We needed a complete kitchen remodel after some major water damage. We had tile floor installed, new cabinets installed and granite countertops. Our new kitchen looks amazing! We used contractors through Carpet Tile and Flooring Depot and everyone who came (several different people for the various jobs) were all fast, thorough, knowledgable. The salesman, Alfonso, and foreman Tony got me exactly what I wanted and listened to all of my requests. I am so very pleased with the service provided and especially with the outcome of my amazing and gorgeous new kitchen. Thank you so much!

This company is terrible to deal with. They are not helpful with telling the customer what needs to be done, leaving them to figure it out after the remodel is "finished". I will never use Pro Flooring Center again or recommend them to anyone.

They are good at selling cabinets but when they order the wrong size they tell you to pack sand will not help tell you to order new cabinets and pay for them yourself

Peculiar, strange, mystifying: when you see the inconsistencies in the reviews of this business. Morena is one of the prime areas for remodeling in San Diego, so there is lots of competition. However, from this store I never got a call back, after the very nice guy Eli came to our house to measure the floors. I even made a special trip to the store a few days later and spoke with the mgr. I would be very skeptical that these folks can do what they say they will, and keep to their schedule.

Ricardo Carrizales--what an OUTSTANDING manager he is. He really went out of his way to ensure that my fiancé and I were satisfied with the carpet we chose and with your service. Ricardo's professionalism and sincere, helpful attitude really made an impression on us. We initially were dissatisfied with the color of the carpet we picked, but after letting Ricardo know this, he quickly got to the bottom of the situation and exceeded our expectations in finding a solution. I will always go to Pro Flooring first for my flooring needs going forward because of the way Ricardo was able to take care of us and ensure our satisfaction. I would definately refer anyone else I know that needs new carpet and/or flooring to Pro Flooring. Ricardo has made a lifetime customer out of me!

After meeting with a very friendly sales consultant last weekend I was greatly looking forward to working with Pro Flooring. However, they never called or showed up for my appointment. I phone twice asking if Nathan would still be coming by. He said he had sent him a text but not heard anything. This kind of service is unacceptable, especially in such a competitive industry. Good luck took this company - they are terrible.

I just had pro Flooring on Fairmont Ave, do wood flooring in my home, do 6 inch molding and re-finish my cabinets. I certainly did not have any bad experiences like the previous reviews and the work was simply amazing. My friends cannot believe my cabinets are the original ones and Gabriel did an outstanding job on the finish. My flooring is absolutely beautiful and Sergio who laid the floor knew his trade extremely well. Nathan was very pleasant to work with and always followed up if I had questions or needed advice. Elaina who does the scheduling always kept me informed as to when and what time they were due at start a project and was always friendly and courteous. The only reason it's not a 5 star rating for me is that at the start of the project, communication regarding the length of time for the project wasn't clear and when they were working on my cabinet doors offsite I was not aware and wondered where they were.

Absolutely atrocious customer service. Material didn't arrive even close to the original date. The staff didnt seem to care about us at all and had no problem being very rude to us. Also, when THEY made mistakes in the order they had no interest in trying to make it right and just said too bad. Just an awful store take your money somewhere else

I had engineered wood installed in my kitchen, which turned out fine. I had them back for the living room and the nightmare started. Boards buckling, scratches on the floor, drywall torn where baseboards were reinstalled. AND MY DEBIT CARD WAS CHARGED WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. Then they wouldn't reverse the charge and I had to dispute it with my bank. They don't return calls, stick to schedules,or produce paperwork. I called them back to finish the job and a month later the boards are buckling again. If you're thinking about it, don't do it!

I purchased flooring last month from two salesmen.i was thinking that i could install it my self,once i started the project it seem more then what i could do.So i called back ,and ask for help.They gave me a number for a guy name Eli,i called him ,and he walked me through the installation, .We were on the phone for about 30 minutes, that alone saved me $4500.00 worth of labor!! what i came to realize,is that name brand products are all the same,but the difference with this company is that they are willing to save you money.We all are not perfect,but i was willing to give them a chance.ahahahahhhh!!!! IT PAYED OFF!! THANK YOU BOYZ!!!

Pro flooring sold and installed carpet at my home. Initially friendly staff. Installation very poor. Seams in illogical location. They agreed and reinstalled a section. Then to finish the project seam place in an even more illogical location. I objected. The owner said "you signed the seam location." Which I did. I told them I would pay for the carpet section to be redone with better placement of seam. In the meantime I visited the shop, had the seam drawing pulled, and I was correct about the seams. Bottom line the owner of the company was lying to me throughout the project apparently to save the company money at the expense to the customer. In addition poor technical job.

My experience was very different with Pro Flooring out of Fairmont. They were very courteous and professional. I used them to remodel my entire house. I used them for flooring, paint, floorboards, crown moulding, kitchen and shutters. I have to say that they kept all of their promises. All materials and workmanship exceeded my expectations. Everyone that comes to my home immediately comments how beautiful my home is. The pricing was the best I was able to find. If I have anymore needs for repair, I will be contacting them for the work. Regarding my flooring, I installed a gray laminate flooring that is beautiful. I think what was very impressive about their service was probably the amount of time the work took. Everything was complete on schedule or ahead of schedule. I cannot say enough about this company. Please feel free to use them as they exceeded all of my expectations.

After dealing with this company, I would avoid it at all costs! I had a whole house remodeling and needed tiles for bathrooms. I visited the store a couple of times to decide on the tiles and every time I was told a different price regarding the same tiles. This should be the first warning sign and yet I ordered from them anyway. Big mistake! I was told everything was in stock and would arrive in a week. I needed 3 different tiles for the master bath remodel and placed an order in early July. A week later they delivered 2 tiles out of 3 and one of the two they delivered was completely wrong. I had to return the wrong tile they delivered but they charged me a 25% restocking fee. It was completely unreasonable that the store charged customers for the mistakes the store made. I was then told the third tile will be delivered 3 weeks out at the end of July. It was cutting very close timing wise as I had a deadline for moving into the house from my rental. I figured it would still be o.k. so I waited. Unfortunately July came and went and then I was told tile would not be delivered until end of October. That would definitely not work so I needed to cancel the order. Again they charged me a 25% restocking fee for the mistake they made. The store's behavior was totally outrageous and unprofessional and it was a nightmare dealing with them.

I'll start by saying I did not use them when looking to have carpet installed. First, you have to check out or pay for samples, which is the only place of 4-5 I went to that made me do this. I checked out a sample on a Tuesday and brought it back the following Monday, looking to book a free estimate and purchase through them. There were two people in te store (one appeared to be a manager of sorts and was on the phone the whole time), who helped me set up my appointment. The manager said it would be on Wednesday between 10-11am and they would call when on their way. The other person filled out some paperwork and took down all my information. When I asked when they would be able to install, the manager told me the next day after the estimate. At 1045 on Wednesday having no one call or show up for the estimate, I called the office and no one had any record of my appointment. Someone then came out and measured. I again had to give them all my information, as they had no record of me. When I had not heard from then by the next afternoon, I called their office and they said the person was done with the estimjate and would call me back that day. No call. I called again Friday. The one who did my estimate was not there so they radioed him and assured me he would call me back first thing when he returned ot the office. No call again. I finally received a call with an estimate Saturday morning. Again, I did not end up going with this company as they wre completely unorganized and did not appear to want my business.

Carpet Tile & Flooring Depot did an awesome job building our new patio cover. Very professional company, always show up on time and the prices are reasonable. It's the third job they do in our house and the results in each job have always been very satisfactory. I recommend them for any job you may need.

We have a home that was built in 1985. The kitchen cabinets were falling apart and we needed a complete do over. We wanted to replace our cabinets and counter tops, remove a ceiling soffett and our dated lighting and have more modern "Can" lights and drop lights installed. We wanted the countertops to be quartz rather than granite as it is much harder and doesn't need to be sealed as does granite. We shopped a dozen places or more. The stores that had quartz had only a few styles, and most could not do the complete job. They could do the cabinets, but not the demo of the existing kitchen. They could do the cabinets, but not the electrical or plumbing work necessary. Those that could do all the work, charged outrageous prices way beyond our means. That is when we found Tom Foster at Carpet, Tile, & Flooring Depo. Tom was a true professional in every way. They offered dozens of quartz counter tops, all at very reasonable prices, no more than Granite, and lower then most of our quotes for Granite which everyone was trying to talk us into because they didn't have much of a selection in quartz countertops . My wife found the pattern she loved at a price we could afford. Tom told us Carpet, Tile & Flooring Depo could handle everything from Demo of the entire kitchen, the soffitt, etc. and would then install everything including the new lighting. We could not be happier with the entire project. Most of the people we previously received quotes from told us it would take from 4 to 6 weeks to complete. The crew from Carpet, Tile & flooring Depo did the entire job in less than three weeks. They encased our kitchen area in plastic wrap to seal in the dust so that it wouldn't travel throughout the house, did the complete demo, installed the new lighting and repainted the ceiling and walls as needed. They then installed the beautiful counters, reinstalled the stove, microwave, dishwasher, new garbage disposal etc., including all plumbing necessary. Tony the construction supervisor made sure everything was done to our complete satisfaction, pointing out many small details which we didn't even think about . Some flooring tiles had to be replaced and they took care of that too. Tony even was nice enough to bring us some of the counter top material which we could use as a matching cutting board which has proven to be a real convenience. Each day they cleaned up all the debris from the kichen and took all the refuse away. All work was done exactly as they told us it would. Each day we knew who was coming and what they were going to do. It was really great and we are very appreciative to the entire staff of Carpet, Tile & Flooring Depo. Carpet, Tile & Flooring Depot gave us reasonable prices, great selection and very professional service. The next time we contemplate a kitchen, bath or flooring remodel or replacement, it will be much easier. We will simply call Tom Foster, tell him what we want to do and what our budget is. We will then relax and let Tom, Tony and the rest of the staff at Carpet, Tile & Flooring Depo do their magic. Many thanks for a job very well done! Sincerely, Terrence and Elena Fox .

I recently bought flooring from the Pro Flooring Center on Fairmount Ave, and here is my experience The sales person talked me into buying more flooring than I wanted, saying that there would be a significant charge (up to $100) to bring the wood flooring down from LA to San Diego if I needed just a few more boxes. As a result, I have 5 boxes too many of flooring, which they will now not take back. When I bought underlayment, I told Nathan that I needed the least expensive stuff...that I was over my budget. He pulled out underlayment at .34 per sq/foot and GUARANTEED me that it was the least expensive underlayment I could buy. I then went to Home Depot, and found underlayment for .25 s/ft. I told him I wanted to bring it back, and asked if there would be a restocking fee, he said no restocking fee, since he just puts it back on the shelf unopened, but he asked me to research different underlayments and find out why the stuff he sold me is so much better, before I return it. My flooring guys said that the underlayment was not any better than the stuff at HD, and said return it for the difference.....but I left three unreturned messages for Nathan, and finally I had to just have my flooring guys lay the stuff I already bought, since they couldn't wait any longer. I did have one unopened roll left over, which I took back to the store...Nathan charged me a 25% restocking fee to put it back on the shelf!!! I said "But you told me there wasn't a restocking fee on this item", he said "That was before, when you had just bought it....now there's a restocking fee". Then Nathan told me that I was not entitled to have my tax returned, because they already paid it. Have you ever made a return and been told that you are not entitled to the tax that you paid on that item? This is illegal....go ahead, call the Attorney General's office and check....I did. Tax must be returned. So, I called and argued with them about the illegality of the whole thing, and they said that they'll credit me for the tax if I want to drive all the way back.....they won't do it over the phone. Seriously....I used to use this place back when there was some Australian guy working there, and I bought carpet for another home, and had friends buy carpet from them. There are all new people there now, and they are not the honest businessmen they used to be. I would never recommend them again. I am taking responsibility for the 5 boxes of wood flooring they now won't take back, since it took me more than 30 days to lay the floor, and it's my fault for being talked into buying too much. The restocking fee and the tax fee were such small amounts, but it's the principal that really bothers me. Especially that part about them not having to return tax. I just feel like they're crooked now. BE CAREFUL when you buy from them, and READ THE SMALL PRINT!!!! Even if they verbally tell you something different.
