BEWARE- I had carpet ordered and they were nice enough to hold it for me for a month while completing other work. Carpet installed but no paperwork as to warranty on work, carpet, pad... so called to say I would pay when invoice received. Was accused of being a bad person for not paying without getting paperwork/warranty first- knowing that no warranty would be upheld if I paid first. Apparently the customer is not right with this business and I still have not received any invoice-despite paying one month ago. Very disappointing. The reason given was owner on a cruise-returned 12/5-still no invoice/warranty, despite additional follow up call two weeks ago.

I was worried about going with them because of the bad reviews about installing carpet on time. We had a very easy time setting up the carpet delivery and installation, we even had to change the date twice and both times they treated it like it wasn't a big deal. They have a great selection of carpet, and they don't pull you into buying the expensive carpet, in fact when we were looking at a more expensive carpet they found a cheaper alternative without us even asking.

Worst communication and follow up. Late for warranty appointment, didnt follow up (said installers would call to fix issue) and has not returned call or text in over a week. August is when flooring installed, issue given to Manager Mid April and Nothing done or communicated as of May 13th. Took business to RC Willey for second home, Carpet Guy lost 5k in business just for not honoring warranty. Beware!! #smallclaims #flakey

I have used Carpet Guys 3 times now. The men I've worked with are genuinely helpful, and not pushy at all. I'll go there first from now on!

Im moving to a basement bedroom in my home and originally was going to have Lowes install carpeting. I wanted to see if there were better deals out there and my father suggested these guys. I only live about 5 mins from the Taylorsville location so I went in. I was not dissappointed! Their knowledge and choices of carpet was outstanding. I have never picked out carpeting and had no idea what I was doing. By the time I was done I knew more about carpet, paddings and what to look for in a weave and fiber than I ever could have figured out by myself. I decided to have the carpet guys carpet my room and I love it!! So glad that I decided on them, thank you for your excellent customer service and for helping me to feel reassured in my purchase.
Due to a naughty dog, I had to call them to have him return the carpet where it meets the tile. Then, a few months later, the dog was home by himself and probably scared because of the stupid 3 months of fireworks we have here and chewed a section of carpet on the landing down to the tack strip. So they came out and decided to take the carpet out of the master closet and put THAT on the landing. Then they put in brand new carpet in the closet! It looks fantastic and they are very affordable! I would recommend them again and again!
I changed my review from 1 star to 3. It still took 4 weeks for them to install carpet on my stairs because they kept canceling the appointments. The reason for 3 stars is because it is a good price and the carpet looks nice. If they had done it when promised it would have been 5 stars.

If they had installed it when they said they would, instead of pushing it out almost every day for four weeks, I would have given them 5 stars.
I had my whole house re carpeted, and I love it. I found the quality and selection better than, say, Lowes or RC Willey, and at a better price. I would recommend them highly.
We recently used the carpet guy to replace some carpet in our bedrooms, replace flooring in two bathrooms, and repair carpet in our basement. We dealt with Tony (the store manager) in the store. The price was reasonable, it was easy to schedule, and they did a great job. We did have a minor issue where the installer wasn't planning to include the stairs. We called Tony, and he had the additional carpet out to the installer that day, and our installer stayed late to finish everything up. Tony came back the next day and did our repair job, which turned out to be quite difficult due to the age of the carpet. He spent way more time than he had estimated, but I appreciated his desire to get everything just right. We walked away from our experience satisfied. I would use them again.

I just called their main telephone number (the 417-5600 #), and the kid who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me. Before I could even ask him my first question, he cut me off mid sentence and hung up on me! I've never experienced such deplorable customer service, and I wouldn't recommend these people to ANYONE based on merely that alone. I'm not even typically concerned with the quality of a business's customer service, but the Carpet Guy's is SO horrible, that it merits a comment and review.

We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Gary Penrose (the carpet guy) when he as referred to us for a kitchen remodel by our contractor. Gary was nice enough initially and even though his prices seemed a little high he had a tile that we really liked so we decided to go through with the installation. The first problem arose when two days before our installation date Gary called to confirm our appointment for the following week!? Seeing as we had gone over the details many times and had discussed the installation and documented it ad-nauseam this was no mistake. It also happened to be pioneer day which being new to the area we knew nothing about and quickly figured that Gary either didnt want to or couldnt get someone to work that day. Considering this scheduling "mistake" screwed up our whole remodel in terms of cabinet, appliance, and countertop installations which were all booked and lined up this was a big deal. The kicker was when Gary tried to pin it on us like it was our mistake instead of it being him who was trying to weasel out of date because he didn't want to work a "holiday". The actual installation was just as poor as his scheduling abilities as the workers did a poor job with the tile install. All of them were uneven and instead of making it right they blamed it on the house settling...The house was built in the 50's and considering we had a new sub floor put in that is a poor excuse. Even worse when you consider the existing tiles were perfectly even. When we left several voice mails with Gary asking for him to come check out he installation as we had questions of whether it was up to the quality that he would expect from his installers we received no response. Several emails were also not returned. Gary is a fraud and will take your money and run without any concerns of the job being done right or if you are happy with the end result.

Worst customer service ever. They've been paid in full for two weeks and have not come to install our carpet. Every time we call for an update we get a voicemail. They never call us back. When we do get a hold of them, they always have some excuse for why they can't come. Ive never been more disappointed. And I can't even comment on the quality of the product because its not here..... if it weren't for my forgiving spouse I would demand a refund and never use their services again.

The Carpet Guy gets the 5 star gold rating from us! They were so great to work with and actually seemed to have OUR best interest in mind. The customer service from the showroom to the carpet installation was top notch. They were quick, the cost was great and the quality can't be beat. Our carpet is fabulous! The Carpet Guy was great to work with. Highly recommended!

The Carpet Guy is located near our home and I have been driving by it nearly every day. I went to Home Depot and found some carpet that I liked. I had to give them $50 in order to get someone to come to my home to measure. They finally came 3 days later but did not leave me any information. The Carpet Guy's Chuck followed me home the same day I came in to the store. He calculated the measurements in front of us and they agreed with my husbands. They had the same carpet as Home Depot and their price was almost $1,000 less! They asked for a partial payment with the rest due after installation and inspection. Home Depot wanted to charge me additional monies to remove and dispose of my old carpet. The Carpet Guy did not! The visit to their store, measurement and ordering were all done within about an hour. My carpet arrived and was installed within a week. The installers arrived on time, removed the old carpet and pad, put down new tack strips and installed the carpet within four hours and did a fabulous job. Chuck came that evening after the store closed to inspect the job and to make sure we were happy. We had two small pieces of carpet leftover. Wow!!! Home redecorating projects can be painful...but The Carpet Guy made replacing my carpet quick and easy! I would be happy to recommend them and will definitely use them again!

I ordered vinal and carpet they both turned out awsome. Then the day before they were scheduled I thought about having a second room carpeted and called and they had all 3 rooms done and they looked superv. Now we are needing new vinal in the kitchen and we will definitely be going back to the carpet guy.

Went to get free hot dogs and "free nap" as advertised by their sign. The hot dogs were fine, boiled, nothing special but free. After we sat on a bed and one worker came and swore at my little brother telling him to get out. Apparently the free naps is not a real deal.

Bad experience for me!!!!!!!!! I think the incorrect measurement thing may be a scam. They want to bill for way more than what they quoted. I think that they (owners and loyalists) are trying to counter the bad reviews with some good ones of their own in order to bring the ratings up on their reviews. Look at the dates on good and bad reviews. It looks like a failing company that is very desperate. Try a different carpet company for sure. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Do not do business with them!!
They are very untrustworthy. They misrepresented the measurements of an item for my home and it would not fit. I called to have it returned and they would not let me return it, the guy hung up on me. Now I am stuck with something I am not able to use in my home and they have my money. This was definitely a sly deal and they are not honest!

Honest to goodness- 5 Stars. Superior in politeness, profissionancy, cost, timeframe; just all around good quality. My wife and I needed the basement carpeted and a bathroom tiled. Heath sent it up and had the fellows to the house on time with no questions asked!!

These guys were so very professional and the finished results in my home exceeded my expectations! The price was very, very reasonable and the staff very helpful. I have never been treated so well in the dealing process and they listened to me and what I wanted and did not pressure me into a sale. I highly recommend these guys to any one who is looking for flooring. To sum up my experience here, WOW!!!
