5 months ago Jason Palmer was great. Greeted us quickly without pouncing as soon as we walked in. Knew all the products-from vinyl flooring to carpet. Wasn't pushy but could answer any question. Very personable and patient, even with many phone calls after the sale when we thought of new questions. Great experience in the store and the installation was perfect. Thanks a bunch!!

5 months ago Update. Iwould give this 4 and one half stars if there were half stars. The owner made it right with his offer of putting all the same carpet in my house. Thank you very much. Ijust can't give the 5 stars only because of the way the manager treated me when i called to express my concern on why i wasn't notified on the back order. Very rood, disrespectful, and really didn't seem to care about my problem. Other than him i had a great experience with my sales lady, the owner making it right and the installers were great on time very efficient and clean. I would recommend this place. Thank you independent we love our new carpet Ordered carpet on dec 30 2016 to be told it would be in, in 7 to 10 days. It was only for front room(17 yards) the rest was in Stock.(74 yards) Called them on the 10th of January only to be told the 17 yards is on backorder. Why didn't someone call as i am doing up my old carpet myself while juggling work, kids etc. So it takes longer to tear off so i thought i would get a jump on it only to be told it wasn't in. Called and talked to manager a little mad and asked why i want notified and all i got was i should of been. Well i wasn't and he didn't apologize at all. So I suggested why can't we install 74 yards you have in Stock. Why do i need to suggest this? Isn't this his job? After i got a little heated (rightfully so i think i have no carpet in house) he hung up on me. All i got was what do you want me too do? How about fix the situation apologize show some sympathy anything. Figure something out like i did again your the manager. After calling back they are installing 74 yards on the 16th and coming back to install rest. But it all could of been avoided if he would of been a little more understanding of the situation. Will let you know how rest goes and this rating could go up or down depending on install and the rest of costumer service goes. Right now not very pleased.
5 months ago Hi Kevin, As the owner, first, let me apologize for the situation. I am sure it was frustrating for you to rip up your old carpet, only to find out that the material you ordered was on back order, especially when you have kids in the house. I believe what happened is that Georgia (where the carpet is made) just had an ice storm which caused the manufacturers to shut down for several days, causing back orders for all their customers. I see that we have the installation of the in stock carpet scheduled for the 16th. What I would like to do is put the better grade carpet we have in stock throughout your house on the 16th, at no additional charge, so that you don't have to wait for the other piece of carpet to come in. You should be getting a call shortly from your sales person to make sure this is acceptable to you. We truly value your business, and hope this will make up for your inconvenience. Again, please accept out apologies, and thank you for your business.

7 months ago Frank Kovatch, your personal issues with individual people should be left personal. Frank has never purchased or done business with us and has personal vendettas and personal issues with an individual from over 3 years, ago that has nothing to do with our business.

He's professional, knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. We've purchased all of our flooring needs from him (carpet, hardwood, linoleum, laminate, and tile) for each of our three homes. He's always been able to answer any questions we've had and given us good value for our money."

10 months ago I am posting this for my cousin!!! Heads Up ! Just to let people know, I bought New Linoleum , for my Laundry Room floor. After it was installed , I noticed it bubbling and long wrinkle's like. I went back to the store " INDEPENDENT FLOORING AND CARPET IN FORT GRATIOT , I told them what was happening, there was a rip in the floor, because it had NO adhesive , they just layed it down, and left. The Man that sold it to me said " THAT TYPE OF FLOORING DOES NOT NEED ADHESIVE OF ANY KIND, AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. I just want people out here on Facebook who live in Marysville, Port Huron, Fort Gratiot area, This place SUCKS !
10 months ago We apologize if your cousin had a bad experience. Because you did not include your cousin's name, we can not respond directly to that situation. The only situation that we can recall in the past several months is when a customer called because their floor ripped when they moved the refrigerator back. Although we did not cause the problem in this situation, we sent our installer back out to repair it free of charge. If this is a legitimate situation, please have your cousin call us and ask to speak with a manager, as customer satisfaction is important to us. The lino products, installation methods and flooring have changed a lot in the past several years. Here is a 3rd party site that confirms that not all lino requires adhesives. 10 months ago Awesome service! Wing and Tom were great to work with. We used their company to purchase ceramic floor tiling and carpeting throughout our house and they were very knowledgeable and helpful during the process. Their installers did a great job also!!

Because of what we do, quality flooring is very, very important in both aesthetics and function. We are extremely pleased with both. They are timely and do what they say they will do.
