last month Exposition did the carpet in our boat interior ... there wasn't a straight line, and many steps and irregularities, and somehow they fit it perfectly. It took the better part of 2 days, and everyone was prompt, courteous and professional. I will never buy carpet anywhere else. So impressed.

6 months ago I wish I had found this place long ago! I bought 3 rugs from them this week and could not be happier. I had one cut and bound into 2 runners for my landing and upstairs hall. Very reasonable prices, quick turn-around time and the staff was a pleasure to work with!

10 months ago Let me preface this by stating that I teach customer service for a living. I remember going here back in the 80's. It was dingy, a little creepy, and with weird old crabby white guy salespeople who looked at me like I would steal a giant carpet and stuff it in my purse. I was not allowed to wander, dream or imagine. (These are musts in decorating!) I went yesterday and was WARMLY greeted by Dina. She was there for us, bit not in an "I'm-on-your-ass-and-trying-to-make-you-buy-something" kind of way. My daughter was allowed to look and touch and dream to her heart's content. We asked Dina prices on a few items and she was very helpful. My daughter finally chose a rug. We went back up front to Dina, who was able to give us a better price than listed, tax included. We paid and took the rug home where it is now a beautiful addition to her newly redecorated room. Dina was kind, funny, helpful, and NOT PUSHY! She provided excellent customer service. Thanks Dina! I now feel comfortable and happy recommending this place to friends.

11 months ago Very good functional place for carpet. If you rent or have pets (or both) and need carpet or area rugs that you can beat on without spending a fortune, go here. Good selection. They cut and bind remnants to any size - hands down the best value for carpeting a room. Friendly, reliable and absolutely no frills.

last year I had two rooms done and am thrilled with the entire experience. They have a great selection in store, and will work with you to find something that may not be displayed in their showroom. They have excellent pricing and were able to come measure, and install my carpet extremely quickly. Dena is a pleasure to work with and really wants to make sure her customers are satisfied and happy with the outcome. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone from Dena, to the gentleman who came to measure, to the two men who installed, were professional, quick and did an excellent job. I would recommend anyone needing carpet to check this business out, you will thrilled you did!

2 years ago I wish we'd known about Exposition before we renovated other parts of our condo -- they'd have had all our flooring jobs. As it is, I'm recommending them to everyone I know who needs their services or has clients who might. This is an old-school, family-owned business that cares about its customers at a level the chain stores can never match. We had great service from the night we walked in, when the company founder (Mr. Isaacson?) came right over to greet us and offer good advice; through all our interactions with his friendly and witty daughter, Dena, who handled the sale with efficiency; through installation by Jesse, who did a tight and detail-perfect job and bent over backward to solve a difficult transition problem. Everyone was wonderful to work with -- and ours was not a large or expensive job, which makes the attention especially impressive. Couldn't be happier with our floor and the whole experience.

2 years ago I have used Exposition Carpet before and was pleased with their work. I needed the interior stairs and hallway carpeted at a six flat I own. They came out right away to measure the stairs and I went to the showroom to select the carpet I wanted. They sell an unbelievable amount of different kinds of carpet. I needed carpeting that would look good, hold up well under a lot of foot traffic and be affordable. I had no problem getting what I wanted. They also let me take a sample piece home to show my husband. They came out within a week and installed the carpet. It looks great. I am very pleased with the results. The price included removing the old carpeting and hauling it away. I feel I got a good deal.

3 years ago If you are cruising up Broadway, it would be easy to miss Exposition, although it anchors the corner at Hollywood. Walk in the doors, and you still might not be impressed. Walk to the back room where the remnants are stored and WOW. Ridiculous selection. Ridiculous. Any type, any color, any pattern. Over the years, we've done very well with the remnants, but that's not the only option. We recently had them do custom runners, and they are PERFECT. Just perfect. Wonderfully nice people, too. That makes such a difference.

3 years ago Exposition Carpet was super helpful and really, really nice. We worked with Dina in the store to schedule installers to measure, then picked out our carpet. They managed to schedule the installation within two days of the measure - and exactly when we wanted it. The two guys who came to install were nothing but professional and they were very fast. Prices were very good; start-to-finish we are very happy with Exposition and will be back to do other projects in the future. I'll also happily recommend Exposition to anyone who asks!

3 years ago We had a great experience with Exposition Flooring. We had a super tight time schedule. We closed on our house on Tuesday, the painters were coming on Saturday, the movers were arriving on Sunday. We needed our new carpet in on Friday. We met up with them on Tuesday, picked the carpet on Wednesday, and it was installed on Friday. We'd gotten one other quote from an installer which was more expensive for less quality carpeting. And we had another quote from another carpet company that was leading us towards wool at twice the price. Dina at Expo layed it all out for us, helped us pick a quality carpet (and something that was in stock) When it turned out she didn't have enough for our job, she was able to negotiate with another carpet company to get some extra to make sure our job finished on time and under budget. Next time, I am not getting another quote. I am just going with Expo.

3 years ago Absolutely stellar experience. Beautiful carpet, great customer service. I had three bedrooms, a living room and dining room carpeted. I was impressed that the installers cleaned all the moldings on the floor. I noticed a couple of seams weren't right. They had Dan come right out and fix them. I am pretty confident if there's a problem in the future, it will be taken care of. I am really glad I went with them. They do a lot of big commercial jobs, but they treated me very well for this relatively small job. I can't say enough about what a pleasurable this experience this is been.

3 years ago We had such a great experience with Exposition and particularly Dena, our sales person. Wanting to replace our bedroom carpet, we walked in (following a recommendation from a friend who has used them several times in the past) and from "hello" we were given great service. Dena was patient, humorous, friendly and very helpful as we looked through the remnants area which was vast and asked a ton of questions (it was our first time doing carpeting). The measuring process was easy and quick. Dena did her very best to fit our budget which totally made the difference for us. The installation was straightforward and the team was very knowledgeable and efficient. I plan to use Exposition again once we do our office area. Highly recommend these folks!

3 years ago This review is long overdue. Exposition Flooring saved me when we purchased our new condo back in January. I was planning on painting/staining the concrete under the unit's existing carpet (there was NO WAY that carpet could stay), but when we ripped it up we discovered the concrete was in horrible condition and not usable as a flooring. Because of the unlevel concrete wood flooring would be outrageously expensive (would have to remove baseboards and doors and level everything). So, I called Exposition and told them I had a flooring emergency. I called on a Tuesday and had movers delivering furniture on a Thursday. They had a guy out to measure my unit on Tuesday afternoon and I followed him back to the store to pick out carpet. They had it installed on Wednesday and the installation was done beautifully. I can't believe how great they were! The price for about 600 sq ft was $1600 which was totally worth it and, by far, one of the best options available.

3 years ago Roommate Catie and I decided to stop at Exposition as our first stop, shopping for new rugs for our living room, foyer, and hall. It became our last and only stop. Since it was the first Saturday in Chicago this year with temps in the 70's, the place was very busy. Juan was doing the vast majority of the customer service, lifting, rolling, carrying out, etc. We found five rugs that were perfect for our place, and all were on sale. Juan was extremely helpful, even though he was busy juggling 4 sets of customers at the same time. Exposition gets FIVE STARS because of Juan and his excellent customer service. But seriously, they need to get this poor guy some help! He was working extremely hard to keep up, and kept a smile on his face. Kudos to Juan!

3 years ago I wanted so badly to like this place and support a neighborhood business. Here is the story, I wanted a specific piece of carpeting with a wave pattern made into a runner. They told me that the only way to do this was by ordering four times more fabric than I needed, as the way the fabric is made, I had to order it that way. I even had them double check, and they told me the same thing again. So I got a second opinion at Peerless on Lincoln. Peerless told me that Exposition Flooring was either 1) bad at their job or 2) just trying to take advantage of me. Needless to say, I didn't use Exposition Flooring's services. I also found EFDC to have a lot of cheap and tacky looking rugs in the back. But I'm sure there is some good stuff with a good price point back there. Unfortunately, I have no desire to find out after the bad experience i had with them.

3 years ago It is so hard to find an area rug in town. When i came in this shop, i got confused because the shop is pack. They have great collection of carpet, but they have all old fasion rugs. I suppose they have not changed their rugs for years. When i touched the rugs, i had some shedding on my hands. Thats why i decided not to Buy an area rugs from them. On the other hand their customer service is good and price is all right. I will be back for carpeting to my bedroom.

3 years ago I got two rounds of carpeting from here and glad I chose this place. My experience was not without hiccups - stained carpet, hurt installation crew, back ordered carpet, etc. At one point, things went really wrong and I didn't hear back for a while. But all in all, I had a positive experience working with Dena to rectify the errors and Oscar did a great job with the actual installation.

4 years ago I can't speak to the carpet installation side of the business since I was only looking for an area rug, but my feeling is that if you can't find it at Exposition you can't find it anywhere. The multitude of choices is overwhelming, but fortunately the staff, particularly Israel, are there to guide you. Its seems they have photographic memory of their massive inventory.

4 years ago Over 30 years ago I purchased a few carpets at Exposition, at a good price , that lasted a long time, and the service was great. So I see the place hasn't changed . The salesperson Tony , was especially nice, and he gave me a few ideas that were reasonable, and helpful . The rugs were good quality at a low price, the installation, was cut out nicely, and for a little extra, the accurate rug installer , cut -in-a bathroom rug , My experience tells me this place is run , with the intent of satisfying the customers , and it's a pleasure that there are businesses , in Chicago, that take a pride, in what they do, and how they do it. Nice people, highly recommend .

5 years ago Good Prices (I shopped around). Dena had great suggestions/ knew the products inside out. They were patient when I needed time to take many samples home, several different times. They were not pushy. We carpeted an entire home and are happy with all of our selections. They were accommodating when I needed to change the install date a couple times. They were prompt to get back to my by email and phone. I would return and recommend them.

5 years ago I had three rugs cut from a remnant and purchased a fourth area rug for my apartment. All four rugs look fantastic and the price for the rugs and delivery was well within our expectations. I don't remember the name of the sales associate but he was pretty helpful and din't hover the whole time like I worry will happen when I go to a store like this. My guess is that the bulk of their business is for contractors and landlords, but I felt more comfortable here than I would at a big box store. I would shop from them again.

5 years ago Exposition Flooring is a dream, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for ANY kind of flooring. When you go, ask for Tony! I was lucky enough to meet him right after I walked in, and after a few minutes, I felt like I was chatting with an old friend. He was phenomenal, and I found exactly what I was looking for and more. I had been on the hunt for a purple area rug and came to Exposition because of all the positive reviews on Yelp. Tony pointed out various purple rugs to me and took the time to show me around the entire show room (which is enormous), so I could see all of the options. I found the color I was looking for in their pile of "scraps" and was able to get a 3 ft x 17 ft piece for $25.00! Exposition made me a 4 x 6 area rug and a 2 x 8 kitchen runner, and I only had to pay for the binding. Furthermore, they were kind enough to throw in a welcome mat that they bound for free! The day I came to pick up the rugs, another member of the staff helped me carry everything out to my car, and he was also very friendly. Thank you, Tony and Exposition, for such a great experience!!

5 years ago Most of their carpet remnants are 12 feet X 12-20 feet. the size of a typical Chicago bedroom. They have a vast selection of such carpeting priced at $200-500. You can pick out your piece and then pay for padding, delivery and installation (3 days) which for me came out to a little over $500. I have used Empire. Exposition is a FAR FAR superior solution to buying carpeting. I strongly suggest you have their installer come by to measure your space to avoid issues of pattern matching and seam locations.

5 years ago Searched all over the city for a quality, reasonably priced large area rug (9x12). Saw this on yelp so my husband and I checked it out. Big selection and nice remnant room. Found a great remnant that would work and we had enough left over for a runner. Tony was very helpful and the others were very nice. Rug was ready in a few days and the binding looks great. Will definitely be back.

5 years ago Just the best experience with Exposition Flooring Design Center. After describing what we were looking for, and a few trips around the show room, Dena offered the perfect solution for our daughter's bedroom carpet. It was ordered and installed in less than a week, and I feel great about letting the kids romp around on the wool, low emissions carpet.

5 years ago One year later, we are still thrilled with our rug! As Tony had warned us, we have had to cut a few snags off from doggy toenails due to the tight-weave we selected. However, it still looks amazing and we love all the 'new' floor space we have from having one large rug that fits the room. We spend a lot of time stretched out in the floor with our two 50 lb dogs and really appreciate how soft and cozy it is! The pups love it too. I highly recommend this place for excellent quality at an affordable price.

5 years ago Most reviews on here give Exposition Carpet high marks for their carpet service and installation. Indeed, their reputation is well known and they've been in business for 40 plus years. Prior to deciding to go with Exposition Carpet for installation of pre-finished hardwood flooring in our condo, we read and considered the many reviews that offered praise for their customer service and attention to detail. Though our job would be entirely different, we felt this level of service and dedication would surely carry over to their other flooring installation and products. We could not have been more wrong. Our experience with Exposition Carpet was a nightmare from start to....well, I'm not sure "finish" is the right word. We feel the sales staff misled us regarding the quality and durability of their product. We also feel they were deceptive about their subcontractors. Exposition staff assured us that they would stand by their contractors 100% and they use only experienced professionals. Communication with Exposition went downhill as soon as our deposit check cleared. Their subcontractor showed up the first day not knowing they were to remove the existing flooring first. Needless to say, they didn't have the right equipment. Delay. The existing flooring was difficult to remove. Delay. Exposition gave us a timeline and schedule for the work. On a work day, we would wait for the installers to arrive in the morning. They wouldn't show up because Exposition would send them to another job (this happened more than once.) Delay. Exposition, nor the subcontractors were experienced or familiar with the product or the installation process. Delay. They would run out of material. Delay. The subcontractors were clumsy, not careful with the wood flooring and would damage (scratch/dent) pieces THAT THEY WOULD STILL INSTALL. They would have to redo entire sections. Delay. By the time the job was "complete", six weeks had passed. We were exhausted by the process and tired of living in a messy construction zone. Our struggles with getting Exposition to address our concerns had worn us out. We finally were able to convince the owner to visit our home so we could show him the still scratched and dented boards, the vast sections where the boards were not tight to each other and you could see the concrete subfloor underneath and the seams where adhesive glue had squished out and dried hard. We could not have been more offended by that meeting with the owner, who we felt was rude and condescending. We felt the owner was skilled at redirecting our complaints and suggested that we were causing the damage, had too high of expectations and were being too "picky". After it became clear that Exposition Carpet would not, in fact, stand by their contractors 100%, accept any responsibility for the poor job or commit to address the issues, we accepted a free box of flooring so we could pursue having a real professional finish the work. If we could give Exposition zero or negative stars we would. We strongly do not recommend Exposition Carpet for installation of hardwood flooring and seriously question their commitment to providing quality work or customer service in all aspects of their business.

6 years ago I wish I could give 0 stars. I had carpet installed a year ago on my stairs and have been trying to get the install fixed since day one, the distance between the carpet edge and wall is different on every step. Also the installers broke a 3 foot tall handmade vase and hot glued it back together. I have made several attempts to contact exposition to get this corrected and every time they say they will call me back and no one has. About a week ago the owner called asking for the $500 balance and I explained the situation once again, they are unable to replace it now because the can get the carpet anymore. Today a year later the owner of exposition came by and said it was our fault it was not fixed because we should of called them more ,when I asked him to leave he refused. I had to ask him to leave over a dozen times and thought I was going the have to call the police to get him to leave. Do not use this company they are horrible and I have no idea how they are still in business.

6 years ago Our experience at Exposition carpeting was great. We were looking to re-do a room in our house and were struggling finding guidance from other vendors and landed in Exposition on the recommendation of a friend. While all carpet places have carpet, we found only Exposition has SOLUTIONS! We worked with the in-house designer Tony who guided us thru the process and showed us a variety of carpeting. His suggestions, knowledge, and taste helped us land a design that was exactly what we are looking for. The installation is more than that - it was as if they were applying paint to a canvas. The install team did not cut corners, was not satisfied until it was in right, and worked extra hard to ensure we were pleased. Friendly, neat , and clean we never knew they were there. Thank you Tony, Dena, Marshall and Oscar..we are so happy!

6 years ago I recently spend three days shopping at all of the local chain stores looking for new bedroom carpet and was still not sure what was the right carpet for us. After speaking to a friend she referred me to Dena @ exposition who asked a lot of questions and was able to show me samples that she thought would work instead of me walking blindly through isles of carpet in bigger stores... I spend less money then I thought and got a carpet that I am very happy with !!!

6 years ago OMG -- THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!! Anyone who needs to carpet their home MUST go here!! They are a diamond in the rough with the same if not better selections than ANYWHERE -- including those fancy, high-end places in the northern suburbs! AND...the best part is...their prices are like HALF!!! Seriously, I carpeted my 6- bedroom new home in Northbrook as well as my 2500 sq ft basement for 1/2 of what 4 other places quoted me! I chose ALL medium to high end carpets and they are just GORGEOUS. They also have lower end selections which are equally as beautiful, but this is what we wanted. Best of all, this family-owned business is run with such professionalism, kindness and integrity that you just fall in love with Dina & Marshall -- this father/daughter team is just so amazing that they go the extra mile to please you and get the job done in a timely and efficient and perfect manner! The installers are just as amazing! So kind and they take their time to do the job PERFECTLY. No rushing, just really professional and wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to EVERYONE. I am so picky and have expensive taste and they provided me with everything I wanted for WAY LESS $$ than anywhere else and they are just the sweetest people EVER!! MY HOUSE IS SO BEAUTIFUL THANKS TO YOU EXPOSITION!! THANK YOU!! P.S. My basement recently flooded and they were there the day after I called to install all new padding -- 2500 sq ft of it! the installers moved EVERYTHING including couches, pool table, ping pong table among many other pieces of furniture and they didn't bat an eye! All smiles and kindness. Thank you for making my life easier Exposition!!

6 years ago My flatmate and I needed an area carpet for our living room and a custom cut of carpet for my room. We chose this place because of the glowing Yelp reviews, and I couldn't have been happier with my experience here. With a background in design, Ron was amazingly helpful! After listening to our ideas, he helped us pick out a beautiful 8x10 area carpet right in our price range. He was very thorough: he showed us the carpet in bright and dim light, had us walk across it with and without padding, and brought out sample wood panels and color swatches so we see how the carpet would match with the floor and walls in our apartment. In picking out the carpet for my room, Ron showed me the carpet remnants that were on sale and had me run the back of my hand over each sample to ensure the texture and softness were to my liking. Again, another example of his thoroughness. My flatmate and I bought the 8x10 area rug ($320), 9x10 carpet ($150), and foam padding for both ($30). Although the prices for all these items were already very reasonable, Ron gave us an additional discount. He clearly believed in and exemplified excellent customer service. I would also like to say that Tony was also very helpful that day. He cut the carpet to our specifications, folded the carpet so compactly that my flatmate and I had no problem fitting all four items into our Civic, and he carried the items out to our car. A note on parking: this place has a private lot next to it, so I recommend driving south on Broadway towards the store so you can easily turn into the lot. I highly recommend this business and Ron for all your carpet and flooring needs.

6 years ago Wow! Every now and then someone in this city gives customer service like your parents sing about from the olden days (mostly when they're complaining about a modern business compared to the one they used to frequent in their quaint small town). Exposition Flooring offers value as if it's 1970. The work is impeccable. The quality of the carpet we got is high end. The price was a steal. We had to have them back because of an unfortunate accident that left a threshold mangled and a 5 inch burn mark from a hot tool in the middle of the room. They were in my house about 15 minutes when they came down saying it was done. The results were perfection. I kind of assumed I'd be staring at that burn mark for the next 10-20 years-- times are tight! Thanks, Exposition Flooring, for far exceeding expectations. I was already recommending you to everyone but the fact that you came back and fixed this means I have to take out an ad for you in the Trib-- okay I won't break your record of never having to advertise in 35 years. These guys are the BEST kept secret in Chicago. Tell all the people you like.

6 years ago I went to Exposition to get a rug for my little girl's room. It was a small purchase, but I was treated as if it was very important. The salesman, Ron, showed me and my child around, and thoughtfully pulled out remnants and pieces that were not on display, but that seemed to follow my little girl's tastes. He couldn't have been more patient with her, even though she changed her mind often. He was truly a delight, and the task of finding a rug turned into a fun adventure for her, and a really economical purchase for our family. A great place - I'm so glad it's in my neighborhood.

6 years ago I got some new rugs and needed fiberpad to go under them. I knew that I wanted exactly what I have under the rugs I bought previously from Exposition, so I called to order them (trying to avoid a senseless trip to the showroom across the town). In the end, I worked with Israel who was extraordinarily helpful, but prior to speaking with him I spoke with Tony, who was a total jerk and told me that he didn't take phone orders and I would have to come in, despite my explaining that I had my old invoice in my hand and just wanted to re-order the same rug pad exactly, but in a different size. Taking away some stars for the uneven service. I can't believe someone who is so rude is allowed to "help" potential customers. As as aside, Ron no longer works there.

7 years ago We went in just over an hour before closing to check out their selection of carpet remnants. Found a great piece very close to the size we needed. Since this was only our first search (but it was close to closing time for all, so we figured we'd finalize things by the following weekend), we took a long time to debate and think about it... Finally decided to just go ahead with it. Initially they told us they could have it ready on Monday (this was Sunday, again, just before closing). We said Monday doesn't work, how about Tuesday? Sure, no problem... Well, as we get everything settled, the sales guy runs to the back, and comes out to tell us the guy will cut our remnant to size and bind it for us right now so we can take it home today! Got our new rug/carpet home and into place to make wall-to-wall carpet in our living room over our hardwood floors. Couldn't be happier with the experience & service of this place. Not to mention, we bought basically an 11.5' x 9' remnant turned into an area rug, and bought padding for underneath, for much less than 1/2 of what many of the area rugs I was looking at would have cost. I'm thrilled!

7 years ago This place is the greatest. The decor leaves alot to be desired, but the staff is friendly and not pushy, their prices are good, they have a lot to choose from, and they don't over promise. They deliver what they promise. I wish more home furnishings stores were this easy to deal with.

7 years ago I went here looking for a rug to tone down the outrageous colors I chose for my living room (orange+yellow+teal=toxic, not Moroccan as I had hoped.) Ron, the ridiculously nice salesman showed us around the store, indicating different types of carpets. My favorite part of our first trip-after spending 20 minutes with us, he goes "Now, I don't want you to buy anything today. Come back tomorrow with some textiles, and then we can figure out what you need." Well, we did, and Ron spent over an hour with us the next day, going through every single carpet in our prices range, and even pulling some down to show us why they wouldn't work (no small feat.) Seriously, that guy is great. We ended up getting a medium sized area rug, with an awesome pattern but neutralizing color for under $150. The lack of a fifth star? The less expensive rugs had some high points, but many low points (big Ben Franklin $100 bills in blue and pink, etc), enough to make our final options limited. Regardless, we LOVE our carpet, and it somehow looks nice in our scandalously tinted living room. Thank you, Ron!

7 years ago My husband and I were looking for an affordable, non-toxic carpet for our living room. One of the salesmen, Ron, helped us find a beautiful wool remnant which worked perfectly. He could not have been nicer and he made something mundane like carpet shopping a truly pleasurable experience. The installers were on time and professional. We will definitely use Exposition for all our flooring needs in the future.

7 years ago We needed to re-carpet three rooms downstairs, and as new homeowners had never done such a thing. We called both Luna and Empire to come out for quotes, and all I can say is.....don't believe anything you hear in those commercials. Expo Carpet came recommeded by our real estate agent, and he was right, they were great. We went in, told them what we needed (and made it clear that price was an issue), and Dina quickly showed us exactly what we wanted, and it was affordable. Not only that, but they were able to schedule the work for a couple of days later, and the installation guys were great. They stayed into the evening to make sure it was done right. The whole process was much easier than we expected.

8 years ago Exposition Flooring Design Center is hardly noticeable on a quiet part of Broadway Avenue in Edgewater (bonus: they have a parking lot adjacent to the north), but when you actually go in you can see that this is an established business with lots to choose from and good service. I was a walk-in based on a Yelp recommendation and had a $20 budget to buy a rug for an event the next day. I explained my situation to Dena, the manager ,and she came up with a great solution, instead of my buying a small remnant she could rent me three beautiful Persian style rugs for my meager budget. I was thrilled, this met my needs perfectly. I could pick up the rugs the next morning, Friday, and return them after noon on Sunday when they opened, all for a great price. I would also recommend Exposition for carpet and for rugs, they have a knowledgeable staff and a wide selection. Perhaps the most amazing thing about the store is the carpet remnant section which takes up two large rooms and a warehouse like section of the building. I know where I will buy my next rug or runner, the choices are endless and the price is very reasonable. All in my neighborhood, a great find!

8 years ago belatedly motivated to get a rug for the front room after my recent move, i had a burst of productivity as i left cheetah's gym. i recalled seeing a possible place just 2 blocks south & i stumbled on exposition carpets. there were a number of less-than-appealing rugs hanging in the windows that i immediately recognized as what contributed significantly to my avoidance of this establishment until now. the sunshine & runner's high eased my reticence to enter & i'm sooo glad it did. i was greeted immediately upon entering & directed to browse at my leisure for remnants. richard was friendly, warm & helpful. not the kind of salesman that lurks just behind you as you shop pushing you towards higher priced items or trying any hard sales pitches. just looked you in the eye, smiled & let you know what sales they were offering. clearly i had wasted too much time & effort online or at popular furniture stores searching for the perfect area rug, when what i really needed for my high-traffic area [read: 2 bulldog mixes under the age of 2] was a remnant cut custom to size. i found the perfect color in a piece close to what i needed. all of the remnants were marked down, very reasonable priced & currently an additional 10% off. richard quickly drew up the invoice letting me know that they would have the edges bound by the next day at 3pm (it was past noon when i placed the order). 3PM next day!! a friend of mine is still waiting for a remnant she order 3 weeks ago from another store! i was tickled pink... feeling quite accomplished & clever. though i was nervous when upon calling ahead i was told they would FOLD the finished piece to accommodate our ride. eeek! i suspect i'm not the only one who doesn't care for creased carpet, but i was assured they would do it in a fashion no damage would occur. my arm candy/lifting help had it in place within moments, no crease, perfect edges, just a quick vacuum = happy digs & dogs. the lil guys were rolling their lil backs all over it in prep for the 'opening night of wrestle royale'. they're sleeping off their rambunctiousness now & i couldn't be happier.

9 years ago They have an great selection of carpets to choose from. You could spend all day going through them all. We worked with a couple sales people and they all are really nice. There is an old man that is a bit difficult to work with - he fell asleep last time we were there, but otherwise they are great. However, my biggest kudos goes to the guys that install the carpet. The team we had were perfectionists. We ordered carpet that had a pattern which required them to match up the repeats of the pattern. They did it perfectly. In fact we approved what they did, but the guy still wasn't happy with his work so he did it again! It's nice to work with a company that takes pride in their work. Highly recommend Exposition Carpets/flooring.
