5 months ago We had a very positive experience with Mill Direct and worked with Mike in the Alexandria location. We visited both locations and both were good but we found the longer drive to Alexandria from Centreville to be worth it. They let us spend a lot of time on our own comparing our paint samples to carpets and taking photos. And when we were ready they answered any questions we had. We got great deals. Mill Direct carpeted our entire town home when we were ready to put it on the market and they did a great job. And when we renovated our basement of our new home they did the install then too. They also cut a carpet for us out of a remnant for an office space on the main floor. We had no issues with estimates or billing. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

8 months ago Outstanding for service and price! Highly recommend, I got an estimate from nearby that was more than twice the price for the same thing. The 2 workers were very efficient and did a great job on the bedroom and stairs. Very happy, thanks, alisa from Alexandria.

9 months ago I found myself very desperate for a carpet change in a rental property. I had few days to have it installed. I called several places including Home Depot. Some dates were few weeks out and Home Depot couldn't guarantee any dates until measuring appointment. I inquired with Mill Direct and David was very prompt and was able to send someone the next day for measurements and the installation 2 days later. All communication, appointments and actual service was outstanding. There was a small damage that I noticed the next day after the installation so I contacted David with some pictures and he responded right away on Sunday. He was very apologetic and send someone for a repair the next day. Absolutely best service ever. The pricing was very good as well. I will certainly be back for all my future flooring needs and will recommend them to others. Thank you!

last year I had a great experience at Mill. I was greeted and helped by David, who was friendly and professional. I had plenty of options to choose from when looking for a 12x9 carpet remnant. Great selection and great prices. I will definitely do all my flooring buying from here. A+ service.

last year Great company to deal with. We had our entire second floor (4 bedrooms, hallway and stair runner) recarpeted. The crew arrived on time and completed the entire job in one day. They moved all large furniture and beds. Very professional and efficient. The crew was very polite and cleaned up thoroughly when done. The reasonable price was a bonus.

last year This is a great local store. They have tons of remnants and area rugs. I always come here and buy remnants for my rental property. This store has been there since the 70's. Highly recommend.

last year I recently had my hardwood floors refinished by Mill Direct Flooring. From start to finish the project went smooth. Throughout the project I spoke to 3 different salespeople about scheduling and some other details. Everyone was very responsive and helpful, and their installer did a great job. I would certainly use this company again.

last year I purchased and had Mill Direct (MD) Install CoreTec Plus flooring manufactured by USFloors in 2014 for a playroom approximately 25' x 20' room with closets (at a cost of $7500). In 2016 the planks began separating in MANY places. While MD did come back once and "push" them back together, that did not last long, they are simply not holding together. In addition, some of the planks chipped, warped and buckled. Whether its a failure of install or manufacture is unclear. Mill Direct did nothing as its warranty ran out after the first year. US Floors came with a "ten" year warranty, however, USFloors declined to honor the warranty because our children played on it. USFloors advertises on its website that its planks are "100% waterproof" and that: 1. "COREtec planks won't warp or buckle no matter how wet they get. In other words, they can handle a lot more than daily spills and muddy footprints." and 2. "Our patented core structure makes COREtec the original 100% waterproof, kidproof, petproof flooring by providing more rigidity, stability and comfort than glue down LVT, solid locking LVT, or laminate flooring." My flooring didn't even get wet. So be mindful that if you do purchase USFlooring planks and they do warp or buckle (and separate), good luck in having them remediated. Now I have to replace the floor at my own cost. I suggest looking at an alternative to Mill Direct and USFloors.

last year The folks at Mill Direct Floor Coverings were great. Very responsive when setting up both a quote and the install; quick service; and the carpet install went smoothly and quickly. Their price was on the lower end of the range of quotes we received. The final result is some great-looking carpet! Will definitely recommend Mill Direct to my friends if they're looking for carpet or other flooring.

They were quick to response and quick to come do the work which only took them a day to finish from A-Z . Geno is good guy and so is his crew. last year I've been using this company for over ten years. I'm a contractor and use this company for all my wood and carpet. They work with contractors and realtors, it's easy to see why they've been around so long.

last year My wife and I shopped for wood flooring for months, we dealt with dozens of salesmen. Finally we met Dave at Mill Direct, and my wife gave me the ok. The whole team over there is laid back and knowledgeable. The installers did a great job and we couldn't be happier.

last year These guys did a friend's floors with Luxury Vinyl in the first floor and carpet on the second floor. It was a great bargain, the installers were professional and efficient, and the actual floors look great. The vinyl looks just like real wood, is water proof and makes it easy to replace any future damage.

2 years ago I couldn't be happier with my new carpet installation. I was wanting a sisal look that would complement the slate walkway and the results are better than I imagined. The fact that sample boards are readily available and larger samples can ordered and quickly delivered to the home was a big plus and something you won't find at Home Depot or Lowes. David and Mike worked with me to find exactly what I had in mind and they know the products. The installer, Nelson was professional and even when I ask to change the seam placement, he was able to make it work. I didn't buy my carpet through COSTCO, but Mill Direct is the company they use for their carpet contractor. Highly recommend.

2 years ago I've never put in carpet before; Mill Direct was recommended by my Realtor. It was a great experience from start to finish. David, our salesperson, was very patient while walking us through samples, and he even let us take three home so we could better make a decision. He was very accessible throughout the process. The installers, Mauricio and Wilfredo, came yesterday. Very knowledgeable, friendly and polite. And they cleaned everything...you wouldn't even know they were here. My husband says that these folks are pros because there wasn't a lot of waste or remnants left -- they know how to measure and and efficient. No hesitation recommending them, and now we're considering putting runners on the stairs because of the great experience we had.

3 years ago Love my new floors from Mill Direct! I had Brazilian TigerWood installed on the first floor of my townhouse and they came out gorgeous. Mike Wiley did a great job communicating with me and scheduling the install. And the team was very professional.

4 years ago I used Mill Direct based on the advice of a realtor. I assumed this to be a good sign that a realtor would send people there, and I was impressed with their selection, prices, and professionalism in the store. We had both carpet and engineered wood floors installed, with the engineered wood glued down. When our floors were first installed, they looked great and I would have recommended them to anybody (and did). I now rate them 1 star. Here's why: The quality of wood (product) was great. The carpet was great. In the first few days, there were a few things that we observed that needed small fixes, and they jumped right on it. After two weeks, we started noticing more issues. Gaps of 2-3 mm showed up in a few places; planks were coming unglued and creating "soft" spots (where you can feel the wood give as you walk)-- some areas this resulted in air poofing up at us and in other areas this created a clicking sound; planks popping up at the seam to create ridges along long runs. Areas that so unlevel that it felt as if we had arch support when walking with bare feet; when they moved our dishwasher to install under there they didn't reattach it to the underside of the cabinet making it useless. We brought all these issues up, and our salesman eventually came out to look at the job a month after the install. He agreed that it wasn't up to their standard and that had he known we had a concrete subfloor, he would have had a different installer come out because the one that did show was not keen to work with concrete and it appears he didn't do the necessary prep work. We said we wanted the entire woof floor redone (only 500sqft). 2 weeks after his visit (a month and a half after the install was completed), we were told that based on discussion with other installers, all the areas coming unglued were likely because of the age of the subfloor and that nothing would change this, including a full reinstall; and thus they wanted to replace just the kitchen (which was really bad) and nothing else. Now, I have a hard time believing this because 1) we replaced a wood floor that was already installed and was perfectly flat for the 5 years we had already lived there 2) other people have wood floors installed in my building with no problem 3) if the kitchen can be fixed/made flat, the entire floor should. I rejected the decision to replace only part of the floor. I'm now waiting on a manager/owner to reach out to me. It's been almost two weeks since I was told it needed to escalate higher above the sales team (almost 2 months since the install and 6+ weeks since I started noting problems), and it's been two days since I called and was told (because it was after 5pm) that the person I needed to speak with wasn't available, but the manager said I should receive a call the next day. I believe the folks that own/operate the business are dedicated to their work and have heard good reviews from others (a realtor for example that would not send people looking for floors for their soon to sell home to a place that they have had bad experience with), but offer this as a warning for "if it doesn't go right, it could take a long time to make it right" .

5 years ago We used the Mill Direct on Richmond Hwy. We were looking for a large solid colored, rug for the hardwood floors. I went in expecting them to have the usual selection of rugs, but instead found an entire wall of bound carpets in all sizes and colors. It was amazing. They take the end of their rolls after an installation, bind them off and sell them. Home Depot wanted $300 just to bind the carpet, then add the actual carpet cost and pad to that and it was almost $600. At Mill Direct it was $250 for an 8 x 10 with a very nice pad that they cut to size for us. And the carpet is a good quality. We've used them several times. Never had a problem. And we'll be going back as we continue to replace area rugs throughout the house.

5 years ago I really wanted to be able to give this company a 5 star rating, but the installer made mistakes that I cannot overlook. I thought the salesperson, Brian, was terrific and professional. I got a great price on great carpet and upgraded padding. The installer put down the wrong padding. I am told that it was a mistake. I believe that it was, as he went back to the store to find that there was a special order for my upgraded padding. BUT he did try to tell me that it was the correct padding at first. KNOW WHAT YOU ORDER. I contacted the salesperson about an issue I had with the carpet on the stair. He got someone out quickly to fix it. The repair guys fixed it professionally and courteously. I would use them again.

6 years ago I had my new carpet installed today. My entire experience was positive from my initial call, to the in-home estimate, to browsing options in the store and finally, the installation. Mike helped me select a very nice carpet that was affordable and appropriate for my home. I would recommend anyone shopping around to take the time and visit the store. Great selection, price and service. My new carpet looks wonderful. Installation took about 5 hours. I would use them again.

7 years ago Mill Direct sells flooring and carpeting, including a lot of custom order items. I bought an item in stock, and had an excellent experience. Project: Find a bargain price for a high-quality stair runner and area rug. To my surprise, I was directed to a large selection of remnants. Several dozen were big enough for the job. I found one beautiful remnant that was less than 50% of the cost of custom-ordering the very same carpeting. Friendly sales staff helped me ensure that the remnant was big enough. The store sent a very nice staff member to my address to measure the two areas and talk about details such as how much flooring to expose at the edges of the room. Binding, pad, delivery, and installation were extra, but the final price after installing the remnant was still below the raw cost of a custom order of the identical product. Service was prompt and polite, with good communication and just the right questions. Two different sales staffers helped us throughout, and we never had to explain things twice. Everybody at Mill Direct just seems to know his/her job. This is not a fancy store, but that's fine with me. A lot of the remnants are in neutral shades, but I quickly found a color and pattern with character. Staff members give clear explanations about relative quality, wear, etc.
