3 weeks ago My family and I worked with Chris (sp?) and she was fantastic. She helped us maximize our budget to find the best quality carpet for our economic situation. The carpet was installed a couple of months ago and the whole process from start to finish was quick, easy, and pleasant. The workers (who removed the old and installed the new) were amazing: hardworking, super polite, efficient, and provided exceptional craftsmanship. We have several mini "poles" or banisters in our house that other carpet companies informed us that they would not be able to navigate around and, therefore, would either need to remove the structure or simply couldn't install our carpet. There was NO ISSUE with Sterling. I cannot say enough good things about this company, its staff, and the carpet we purchased.

3 weeks ago Chris Mele is a real asset to Sterling! We had a leak that required replacing nearly 800 square feet of flooring. She listened carefully, filled in the many knowledge gaps I had, and got us on track. We will be replacing our carpeting soon-- we'll work with her again!

I deeply apologize that we had some shortcomings on the baseboard work and we always do our best to rectify the situation to the best of our ability. I want you to please know that we always our accountable for our work, which I hope we conveyed to you with the final product. 3 months ago Just have our downstairs carpet installed. We are very happy with the whole process. We worked with Chris in the showroom to select the right carpet for us, and she has been very helpful, providing us with samples to take home to make our decision. Both the measurement guy and the installers show up on time and were courteous and professional. The final price was exactly as quoted with no surprises. Communication was excellent throughout the process. They've done a good job with the installation. We will definitely consider them our first choice when we are ready to replace our upstairs carpet in the near future.

4 months ago We moved into our new home and needed carpet installed ASAP. Dan at Sterling Carpet and Flooring made it happen for us! Since we did not have time to have them come to the house to measure, they brought out extra carpet for the install. During the installation we decided to also carpet our garage floor as well and I trusted Dan to pick out a durable glue down carpet that would look great and also be durable. They were able to install the additional carpet the very next day! The installers were on time, professional and friendly. Dan is professional and knowledgable and I could not recommend this company more! Thanks guys!

4 months ago Went to Sterling looking for wood flooring when we had a slab leak. Steve actually came out to our house to measure and was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all our questions thoroughly, was available to us throughout the entire process and even followed up to see how we liked our flooring! Sal was also a huge help when we went out to the store in helping picking out the actual flooring based on what we told him we were looking for and our price range.. Overall experience was amazing (for a slab leak) . Staff was knowledgeable and flooring competitively priced and looks beautiful!

4 months ago I recently had a flood in my home and had the pleasure of working with Chris and the owner, Richard, from Sterlimg Carpet. I was unsure how to proceed and they helped me and relieved all my stress. I now have beautiful flooring for my home. Their prices are magnificent. I can not say enough positive things about this company and their employees. When I replace the rest of my flooring I will definitely return to Sterling Carpet.

4 months ago Sterling carpet was awesome! They gave me a good price and great service. Thier guys (6) came out and installed carpet in our 3500 square foot home in one day. (We thought it would take 2 days. They were kind consederate and worked professionally. I was so happy that I went out and bought them pizza! I would highly recomeend Sterling Carpet to anyone. 5 months ago This is the second time we have used Sterling to carpet our whole house. With so many choices out there, appreciated our very helpful sales person Steve Day who was able to get us larger samples than the usual 4 x4 carpet swatches most stores provide. But best of all.. help without a high pressure sales pitch. AND.. they had the best prices of all the stores we checked for the same product. The installation team was excellent. They were even able to get under a heavy entertainment center without having to unhook all the equipment! That was a wonderful time saver, not to discount the mental angst saved by not having to rehook all the electronics. All done is one day and they cleaned up after themselves. Next time I need to carpet I will save the running around and go directly to Sterling !

5 months ago I am so happy with my new carpet and the whole experience with Sterling.   Chris helped me pick just the right carpet, prices are really good, and Lupe and Juan who work in installation were so kind and professional.  They did a beautiful job.   I will always use them in the future.  Many realtors use Sterling because they are so nice and such a pleasure  to work with.  It's amazing what new carpet can do for your home.

5 months ago I bought shaw carpet through Costco with Sterling carpet being their carpet store. I bought the Tuftex line with a lifetime warranty and 30 day replacement for any reason. Unfortunately I needed to replace my carpet for a combination of reasons. Costco, ( Their store manager Gene) StainMaster (their representative Cheri) and Sterlings store owner Dan Mandel were all involved. They also exchanged e-mails with me as we worked our way through this process. My special thanks to Sterlings owner Dan Mandel who personally exchanged over 20 e-mails with me. I had to select a new carpet and he sent all the Tuftex line of samples in my color to my house. After I selected a carpet he had a large sample to sent to my house. With each e-mail he would respond within 10 minutes. He went out of his way to personally assist me and make this as easy as possible on me. My carpet was installed 2 days ago and the installers were wonderful. They swept and vacuumed their way out the door and were wonderful in helping me getting the furniture back in place. All this with smiles on their face as I said could you move the couch a little more to the right. As Dan Mandel said "a happy customer is a customer for life". Thank you Dan!!!!

7 months ago I went to sterling carpet to look for top quality designer carpet. I walked in and Lupe instantly helped me and I told him exactly what I was looking for and he found me the perfect carpet made bye Shaw's Tuftex line which is made out of nylon! He found me this carpet in less than five minutes. I am really happy with their customer service they are awesome, and their selections of carpets were outstanding and their prices were the best! I highly recommend sterling carpet and I would defiantly buy from them again!!! Thank you Lupe for everything !!!

7 months ago My wife and I researched carpet for a month or so and visited quite a few Carpet and Flooring dealers in my neighborhood. As well as I did look at the big stores such as Home Depot and Lowes to make sure I was covering all bases. I live in Costa Mesa so heading to Anaheim for any services is typically not my first choice. I try to support local business if possible but sometimes you just cannot get what you need. Well the local shops had great carpet options but the pricing for carpet and installation just seemed a little high and was pushing the limits of our budget. Home Depot and Lowes had a much smaller selection and quite frankly not the quality I was looking for to put in my house. As well there just is not that personal touch at those stores as buying carpet is different than buying light fixtures and 2 x 4's. I was really in limbo and not sure what to do next when a friend recommended Sterling. I first contacted Dan the manager who put me in touch with Steve Day. Steve has been working in the carpet industry for quite a long time as I recall more than 25 years and was very insightful! My wife and I spent several hours in the store with him looking over samples and laying them out on the floor etc. After reviewing the style of carpet we were considering it was Steve who recommended we look at another option. We took several samples home and well we chose the carpet that Steve picked out for us. Thank you Steve and Dan so appreciate the service, the carpet looks amazing!

8 months ago Kudos to Sterling Carpet for a job well done. After looking at a number of flooring places, we came across Sterling Carpet and were very glad we did! Debbie was great to work with; she took the time to show us a variety of manufacturers and styles, and sent plenty of samples home. She was able to put together a very aggressive deal and we pulled the trigger soon thereafter. Sterling was very flexible with the scheduling (i.e. willing to come out to install new baseboards first, so we could have the painters do their thing first, then they sent the crew back afterwards to install the carpet). Carpet looks and feels great! I highly recommend Sterling Carpet if you are in the market for new flooring in SoCA.

9 months ago Sterling helped me to put hardwood throughout the entire first floor of my home and carpet the entire upstairs. I worked with Lupe who showed me every possible color of grey carpet you could imagine. We ended up picking the first one he suggested and both the install of the hardwood and the carpet were flawless. In order to lay the hardwood, they had to remove an entire floor of 12x12 tiles and they did so with out damaging anything and were able to reuse all of the base boards. On he carpet, we had quite a bit of furniture that we couldn't move out of the way, but the workers had no problem getting it moved to install the carpet all in one day! I would highly recommend Sterling if you are looking for quality flooring at a good price with excellent customer service.

10 months ago Go see Chris at Sterling Carpet. She is awesome!!! Picking carpet out can be daunting with so much to choose from. But we told Chris what we wanted, shared a little about our life and home style and she led us right to the perfect choice. Sterling's pricing is very reasonable and their laborers did an outstanding job with the install. We were able to have beautiful new carpet within the same week. 10 months ago I had been searching high and low for affordable wool carpet. I live in West LA, and the options seemed to be quite limited, either the richy rich stuff, or all synthetic. I found 100% wool carpet at a competitive price, AND, they were fast, reliable and good at instillation. Beyond those qualities, everyone I interacted with was so nice, not pushy, and genuine. Plus, they were open on the weekend, so I was actually able to drive down without missing work. If I ever need carpet again, or friends ask, I will recommend this place.

10 months ago Have been using Sterling Carpets for 13 years. We had Ultra Stainmaster Royality Coronation in refinement installed in our Town House, LOVED IT. When we moved into our new home we had the exact same carpet installed and again, LOVE IT! Our tenants also love the carpet in the town house which is holding up wonderfully! We are remodeling our master bedroom and guess what... yes, same carpet will be installed there too! When we moved our neighbor told us that when we are ready for a new carpet he could put us in touch with his good buddy who owns a carpet store, I politely thanked him and told him I'd think about it but I was intending to go back to Sterling as they did a fantastic job in our other house, low and behold our neighbor said,"perfect, it's Sterling I was going to send you to!" :):

11 months ago We have been using Sterling Carpets for over 30 years. In our previous house (in 1983) we had the whole house carpeted, and since we've lived in our current house we've had them do our family room twice (once to replace linoleum, and once due to a remodel) and we just had our ENTIRE (2700 square foot house) recarpeted. There's a reason we keep going back. They have been consistently amazing to do business with, reasonable prices, and amazing customer service. When you call, ask for Chris - she was very accommodating to the fact that we were doing a 2-story house following a remodel and needed to do it in sections... their installers came out 3 times and did an OUTSTANDING job! Thanks Chris and Sterling - your business is awesome! (We have also recommended to MANY friends over the years - everyone is always pleased and call us to thank us for the recommendation)

12 months ago This place was another official shaw reseller (one of the higher status). They had a pretty good selection of quickstep which is mohawk (which isn't shaw) and has almost no selection of mannington. Anyhow, I was looking at the mohawk and I thought the price was very competitive. For mannington, not so much. In fact, it was about 25% more in cost for mannington. I gave them an option to see if they would be more competitive for mannington and they never called me back.

I am sorry to hear we could not meet the price you were looking for on the Mannington side. Certain brands market their products and price their products from store to store. We just got on board with the Mannington wood and are in the process of bringing in new racks and samples. Until this happens we are on their non displaying dealer pricing which is much higher than say a dealer who samples the product in store day in day out. I am certain once we start displaying the product that we can meet or beat any price out there! In the meantime if you are still looking for the product perhaps I can make some phone calls and see what we can do for you. last year Great carpet company! My family has been using them forever more than a decade -My mom has had then re carpet every home and rental we've had minimum 10 places they are always so accommodating! They even send my mom samples in the Mail before carpeting ! Will continue using them!! Forever ;)

last year We are using Sterling flooring after looking through Lowes and other carpet companies. Not only are they substantially lower in price then (say lowes) their products we used are SHAW and they had a great selection that was based on the popular demand that is modern today. So far the Service from Alan is AWESOME.. he shows up on time, or a few minutes early. He gave me quotes that were honest and spent extra time with me to help figure out what works best for our house (30 stairs condo) and budget. I trust Sterling because of Alan and going through Costco warranty system followed through with it all. Very helpful and organized! Thank you!

last year Had them install 850 SF of Mohawk Smart Strand carpet. I did all the demo so can't comment on that, but the crew was on-time and did not scratch walls. Did a great job at a great price! Ask for Sal!

last year I had carpet and linoleum installed in my home after being referred by a staging expert (Marilyn). The price was better than Home Depot and one other carpet company. It was the exact same carpet. Chris from Sterling sent the team out to measure and then install. The team did an excellent job of installation. I am very pleased with my purchase. It looks fabulous! last year We used Sterling Carpet and Flooring after extensive research on carpet options and pricing from various vendors. We decided to go with Sterling based on price but we ended up being equally happy with their quality of work. Price: A+ Quality of Work: A+. I love my carpet, it looks great. And, I'm the most difficult customer because I expect perfection. Thankfully, that is exactly what I got. The installation consisted of about 1600 s.f. and a spiral staircase of carpet. Sterling Carpet and Flooring brought a team that was able to prep, lay padding and install both the entire upstairs of my home and staircase in just one day! WOW! The team was there late and were committed on completing the project which I truly appreciated. Our home is a new construction so we had a large amount of dirt/mud from our driveway that had not been poured yet - I was concerned that the new carpet would get dirty from the installers walking on our almost white carpet while they installed it - tracking in mud from outside. But, they were very diligent and installed it perfectly with no shoe marks, dirt spots or seams. Also, there were various places where we had a carpet / tile transition (which had different heights) and they made it look seamless (another concern and A+ execution). We have baseboard throughout which were in pristine condition upon completion as if the carpet was laid first then the baseboards. Thank you for everything Sterling Carpet and Flooring! We will for sure be back for area rugs and for replacement carpet after my toddlers do their damage ;-)

2 years ago Got a response from the owner. Its amazing how ignorant people are or are they just plain liars. To Clarify your story ( Dan the owner ) I estimated 100 yards. It came out to 109 yards only 9 yards more. Your salesman gave me a price per yard that was quite a bit higher then what he quoted me originally, only for 9 extra yards. When I asked him why it was so much more PER yard he said the owner will not honor that price. The salesman said it was Dan the owner that would not honor that price that was quoted. It was not that the total price went up it was the price per yard that went up. SHADY BUSINESS MOVE. When I called and asked for someone to come fix the job because nails are going through the carpet and is cutting my feet . When YOUR Installers came they said the carpet was defective and the strips need to be flattened. This was YOUR Installers recommendations not mine. I do not know how to install carpet I was just repeating what YOUR installed told me. Don't give me this BS about trying to make it right. You wanted charge me $1000 to re install a defective product you sold me. Shouldn't you re install a product for free if it was your fault ? You should be a Stand up guy and change my carpet for free if you sold me a defective product. I shouldn't lose more money because you ripped me off. Lets see how much of a Stand up Person you Really Are DAN the owner

I apologize that you are not satisfied with your install or your experience here at Sterling. Regarding your comments about prices and being mislead when you came into the store you had told us that your house required 800-900 ft of carpet so we gave you a rough estimate based on the square footage your provided to us verbally. When we came to do a physical measure you actually needed 1008 sq ft of carpet which was more than you told us in store. The price of material never changed just the sq footage. This is the reason we do a physical measurement to make sure we are accurate in how much material we send to the job. I apologize if there was some confusion but we never want to be short or long on a job. Also regarding your problem with the nails. Carpet needs to be stretched in over what we call tack strip. The carpet has no other way of being anchored in. When you called after the job was done you demanded that carpet be installed a different way with no tack strip. I apologize sir but there is no other method in order to get this material to stay on your floor. We explained to you the process and very generously offered to replace the carpet at our expense with something thicker if you preferred at no extra material cost to you just the labor. We still feel this a very fair and generous offer and we stand behind it if you still would like to replace the carpet. Thank you for the feedback.

3 years ago Sterling is great! From the very beginning to the very end they were extremely professional and helpful. They installed hardwood and carpet and the floors are flawless and great quality for a great price! I've been walking around trying to see if I can find any carpet seams in the doorways and I can't find a single one. I highly recommend them!

3 years ago Horrible installation job! In February 2014 Sterling Carpet Company installed new carpet and padding throughout my four-bedroom home. They damaged my formal dining room table, the china cabinet, both end tables and my piano - huge deep gashes in the piano and scratches on the rest of the furniture. Upstairs they left scratches on my desk, dresser and two side-cabinets. Installers also left some shredding on the edges of the carpet and the padding was so cheap there are areas near the doors of the bathrooms where I actually step on the nails. The very next day I sent photos and a formal complaint to management, and the following week they sent out the installation manager. I could only get a $300 break on the bill. I will NEVER buy, recommend or consider Sterling Carpet again.

We strive to do a top notch job on the many installs we do every day and we did not meet your expectations on this job. When our manager came out to look at furniture we offered to have a refinisher come out or to give you a discount for the minor scratches on a few pieces. You accepted the cash discount offer but if you still would like us to send a refinisher I am more than happy to do that for you as well if you prefer. I can promise you that this the exception not the rule when it comes to us moving furniture. Usually we are very precise and careful with furniture. I apologize again. 3 years ago Business Owner Natalie, I was able to look into this job in great detail since you posted this review a few days ago. While I am sorry that you did not feel satisfied with your purchase I must respectfully disagree with you on a number of points in your review. 1. As far as the carpet being delayed in shipping. When we place an order for material we are at the mercy of the manufacture of when we can get this material. 99% of the time we are given a ship date, since of bulk of carpet is made back east, and that date holds true. In some rare cases the manufacture will push a date on us which we in turn alert you right away so we can plan accordingly. You failed to mention in your review that we gave you a very generous discount on your order due to something that is out of our control. We did this as a courtesy to you and because we value our customers. 2.You said numerous times that we have a lack of customer service etc. While you are entitled to your opinion on this matter again I must respectfully disagree with you as well on this. You called us the day of the install telling us the carpet was the wrong color. We had a sales person drive out immediately with a sample to calm your fears that the carpet was off color, which it was not. After you agreed it was the correct color we began the install. We spoke to you or your mother multiple times through out the day to answer questions etc as it seemed like you were unfamiliar with the process and to calm your fears. While I do agree with you that the installers did put a small gash in your wood by accident we had a wood repair tech there with in 24-48 hours to fix this area as well as your baseboards (which we are not responsible for as the prior baseboards you had in were not done properly). We did these new baseboards for you on your stairs at no cost to you, as a courtesy. Again I apologize for the small gash in your wood and I can assure you it was an accident that is very rare for us but we did fix the problem as I am sure you would have called us back right away if it was not fixed it to your satisfaction. To be honest with you I think it is a bit unfair to say we gave you no customer service when we did everything you asked of us and we went above and beyond as far as my sales people and installers. To close with you ma'am I apologize that you were not happy with your purchase. We are a family owned and operated business who has been in business 50+ years who has existed solely on word of mouth, and referral business. While I will be the first to admit if we make a mistake and try to fix I will also have to disagree with you on your review that I feel some of it is off base and not quite fair to us as you left out quite a bit of information. I appreciate any and all feed back as it makes us a better company and I hope your next flooring purchase works out better for you. Happy Holidays Dan

3 years ago We have bought carpet from Sterling for both our customers and ourselves. We have always been satisfied with the products sold and the quality of installers they used. They have wonderful customer service. The customer service does not end with the sale. We recently required information on carpet we purchased. Lupe searched through his paper records until he located the orders that we placed in 06 and 07. Thank you Lupe:)

4 years ago Awful customer service. It was a complete nightmare dealing with this place!! The salesperson was so nice and eager to sell us both tile and carpet for our new home, and then it all went downhill. From complete miscommunications between the store and installers, to poor quality and careless installation. My husband and I both took off work (twice) for the installers, and two times they came extremely late, and didn't finish on time (a result of coming 3 hours late). Our tile was installed incorrectly, baseboards ruined, and where the carpet was installed in our living room, our existing hallway tile was broken and damaged. After taking photos and talking to the manager numerous times, they decided it would be "fair" to credit us $100 dollars for the lost work pay (really?!) and attempt to repair our tile, which looks horrible. Don't waste your time! We will need to now replace our tile once we find another reputable flooring company.

I offer my sincere regret that we did not live up to expectations and that your job had these problems. We strive to always leave our customers happy and satisfied with the Sterling experience , we failed you and I am sorry.The installer who worked on this job is no longer with us after these problems and I can assure you if given the chance for your future flooring needs we will live up to what our customers expect from us over the 50 plus years. 4 years ago The carpet place has a few rolls of carpet in stock,but they will rip you off if they know you need any of their in stock carpets.Their specials are just regular prices.did not like the sales ppl either

4 years ago Don't waste your time at any other carpet store along the block... Sterling is the most affordable and their price is all inclusive! All the other places I went tried to 'sell me' and then nickel & dimed me on top of that with padding, installation, tax etc... I am on my second job with them and HIGHLY recommend them. Ask for Darren the manager.

4 years ago I highly recommend Sterling Carpet and Flooring. We bought our carpet for our new home here and had a wonderful experience. Our salesperson was knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with me wandering around to find the perfect carpet - which I did! It was delivered when they said it would be and the delivery guys were so helpful moving our furniture for us and making sure we were happy. The carpet is such a nice quality, we love it. The prices were the best we found and the whole transaction was smooth. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else next time.

4 years ago I cannot say enough good things about Sterling Carpets. My husband and I started shopping for new carpet when we were in escrow. The sales man was very patient with us and was super knowledgeable. He helped with the color, texture, padding, all of it knowing that I was not ready to "go". When the time came to do the purchase it was fast, easy and most importantly accurate! Their prices are also really good. While I waited for escrow to close and to be ready to place my order I took my carpet sample to several places - none were even able to get close to the price I paid Sterling. I've since referred 3 friends there who all rave about the service and product.

4 years ago Watch for these guys. They do not have your best interest in mind. Unfortunately, i had taken the advice of a relative and went with these guys. Every item you add on for carpet or tile work the cost is or close to $1000. Any item you want removed to save money by doing the work youself is always less than $200. Go figure.. Watch out for Mike M. the carpet guy. If you ask for an estimate for adding carpet in a room he places the order without your consent and accuses you of going back on your word. On top of that he doesnt provide you the estimate until AFTER the order has been placed. Don't be fooled by his old man's demeanor. The guy is dishonest. Also, if you do decide to throw your hard earned money their way, make sure you convey you want the 1/2" padding no matter how much of a sales pitch Mike tries to deter you to go with 7/16". You can find better places to spend your $$$ and respect the people you're working with. Also dont bring your business to these companies along St. College Blvd. unfortunately, they're all in cahoots with each other; their prices are all the same AND they own other stores along this strip. Its just under a different name. Buyer beware.

5 years ago We have used Sterling Carpets for over 10 years and have always had excellent, service, highly competitive pricing and very prompt installation every time. There is no reason to go through the hassle and high prices of a retail carpet store when you receive such great value and "hands on" customer service from Sterling...we never use anyone else on our projects !

5 years ago I came in on a weekday at around 11 am. There were no other customers in the store, and the first saleslady I came across was friendly until I said I was in the market to carpet my stairs...and only my stairs. Then she immediately dropped her smile and pawned me off to another guy. Once he steered me into a section of carpeting, he basically told me to choose a color. I was looking for a store where they could provide more guidance on quality or what makes one carpet better than another. Instead, Mike just wanted me to pick out a carpet based on color. I knew from Internet research I wanted nylon carpet, and once I spoke up, he steered me to another section. However, I was surprised he didn't even ask first. Also, Mike left me to comb through the racks by myself; I had to go looking for him if I had a question. I left with a carpet sample and a rough estimate, but I was disappointed with the level of customer service. In fact, the estimate was calculated with a non-sale price, even though in person Mike had said that I could get the sale price that had ended the previous day. When I called after getting home, Mike hemmed and hawed about whether he could get me the sale price after all. Perhaps there was miscommunication while I was in the store, yet I still felt like Mike could care less to have my business. I feel like I wasted my time coming in. Looking at the Yelp reviews, I'm guessing that Dan is the guy to see if you come to Sterling. Too bad, since Sterling was listed on ABCcarpets.com (check out the website; I learned a lot from reading up on carpets via this site) as a recommended carpet store. Good customer service costs a shop no more than bad customer service, so why not provide good customer service if someone is looking to spend good money at your store? I ended up going to Michael's Carpet in HB. The level of customer service was night and day.

You are dead on by saying that good customer service costs no more than bad and we value our customers more than anything. We have been in business 49 years and I think a big reason for that is our customer service so I offer you a sincere apology and if given the chance to help you out in the future I will make sure your experience is much better than your first. 6 years ago I just had Sterling replace my carpet and they were awesome. Dan helped me pick out my carpet and was great!! They installed it just a couple days later and I couldn't be happier. Prices were fantastic!!! Much more personable then going to a Lowe's or Home Depot. I would highly recommend Sterling!

6 years ago Went in here to look at Shaw Flooring tile, since they are a recommended Shaw distributor. The dude in there was less than welcoming nor helpful. Don't get me wrong, he was more than interested in helping the caucasian clientele in there. I did not feel welcome in there at all. I was too tired to make a thing about it with him.

6 years ago In 2009, my wife and I went to Sterling and ended up purchasing $6,000 worth of installed carpet and laminate flooring. Generally, we felt we got a good price and the initial installation went fairly well. We did have a minor problem with a grumpy installer and a cosmetically defective laminate plank that got installed in the very visible part of the floor (odd how the installer didn't notice the long white streak on a brown wood-grained finish). However, they finally ended up replacing the board and all seemed well. Then, about 18 months later, some of the laminate boards started to rise around the edges in a part of the floor where an office chair was located. After many phone messages with Dave (the 'hard surface manager'), we finally got a Sterling representative to come out and look at the problem. The rep stated that we had a moisture problem under the flooring (concrete slab). After another extended round of phone calls, we finally got an installer from Sterling to come out and pull the affected boards to verify and to replace with extra planks we had left over. Lo and behold, the surface under the planks was bone dry with absolutely no sign of moisture (past or present). Then Dave himself then came out and now proclaimed that we must have spilled something on the floor to cause this to occur. Since this was my home office area, I knew that there had never been a spill anywhere on the floor in the past. I suspected that the wheels of the office chair had, over time, simply revealed unevenness in the planks (or installation of these planks) and caused the edges to rise and become rough (rough enough to catch my socks). In summary, despite no evidence of any moisture at all, Sterling refused to take responsibility for the replacement of the planks. However, Dave did said he would take the planks back and make a call to the manufacturer rep. But not surprisingly from his past history, I've never heard back from Dave or anyone else from Sterling. And they still have my defective planks. If you think you might ever a problem with the product or installation, then I strongly recommend avoiding Sterling Carpet and Flooring. You will not be happy.

There is no question that we will use them again in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone who is in the need for new carpet or flooring.
