13 years ago, I asked for flooring to be put in my lower level that would with-stand possible water seepage. We had just remedied our water problem and wanted to assure that a flooring was going to make it through water before putting down anything permanent. I wanted something we could lift up if we had water and no carpet pad. An older gentleman at Carpet City, who claimed to be the owner, assisted. He recommended indoor/outdoor carpet and took me to a back area to show me some carpet. We have not had any water problems since our fix but had a resin come through the carpet whenever any friction was applied. Years later, we finally decided to pull the carpet and found a still tacky glue remaining. I consulted the current owner of Carpet City & Hopkins Tile and Carpet. She blamed me and everyone else. She promised to call me back with a solution and never did. We hired a flooring company, and they found two different types of glues used to adhere the carpet. One was appropriate and the other used with a trowel which should be used only with tile flooring....not carpet. The glue was tacky enough that he walked out of his shoes. The expression he used was that this was aggressive and now they have to scrape still tacky glue. That is what was coming through the carpet ... anytime any friction was applied...very early in its years. It was costly to get an inexpensive flooring removed because of folks who are not professionals or not experts...the Carpet City folks. The lower level is bone dry! Never ever do business with a company who does not follow through the directions given or does not even assist in a remedial process for the mess they created.

Lori, the owner, is always patient & helpful to select carpets, from their large collection, that best suits our color needs, weave & price. I tried many different carpet samples at home for our open 3-level floorplan before I found the right ones & Lori supported me with my requests. Great place to do business.

Lori, the owner, is awesome and very helpful
A pleasant experience with a huge selection of all your flooring needs! Lori's knowledge products are far beyond any other place I've shopped before.
My experience with this family owned and operated carpet store was terrific. I had never purchased carpet before and found a recommendation for Carpet City on a website written by a carpet layer who is not affiliated with the business. Lori, the owner, was extremely personable & helpful, guiding me through the process of determining my needs & evaluating the pros and cons of different products. Carpet City does not get a commission from different manufacturers, so the focus is on finding and selling a carpet which fits the customer's specifications and price range. James, who came to our house to measure, then returned to remove & replace the carpet was meticulous, friendly, & very precise in his work. We couldn't be happier, both with the quality of the carpet but also with integrity of the business owner and her staff.
I stopped by Carpet City and no one greeted me, I had to approach them and the salesperson did not introduce herself to me or ask for my name. Carpet City was not a good shopping experience, I will not buy my carpet from Carpet City.

For several years, I used this Carpet City store to find good quality/rugged/inexpensive carpet for my rental properties, and I always found exactly the right selection there. But then I had water in my own basement, and I saw just why this store is so great. Lori helped me navigate the insurance process (their replacement budget was far too low, and she gave me just the right pricing detail to push back), and, most impressively, got everything installed literally the day before the Thanksgiving guests arrived, so the house looked perfect (not an easy task - we changed to a stair runner at the last minute, so the carpet had to be bound). This shop has been in business for years. They have every selection you can possibly want and their pricing is competitive and clear. Best of all, you get the feeling you're working with neighbors who just aren't going to let you make a mistake - who wouldn't want that??

HORRIBLE!!! ..........Do Not do business with these people, they are a rip-off! They want $200.00 just to come to your home to stretch carpet! No matter if you have a tiny ripple or a big wave! Job is not based on time. Technician was only there 25 minutes, and bill was $250.00!!!!! My Fiance who is an Attorney, doesn't make that much $$ in a 1/2 Hour!! To top it off Technician broke threshhold on door frame, and they didn't even want to discount bill........The just wanted him to fix it.....Yeah Right!! NEVER AGAIN!!!
