The United Way helps local communities and Shaw has been working with them in northwest Georgia since 1968. Shaw is a big employer in northwest Georgia; we care about our community and strive to weave our company into the fabric of all the communities in which we operate.
 

United Ways of Northwest Georgia are focused on the following community priorities:

• Basic Needs: Stabilizing families in crisis by supporting basic needs
• Education: Helping children and youth achieve their potential through education
• Health: Providing independence for the elderly and people with special needs

Our associates contribute through United Way to an array of local causes depending on their personal passions. Shaw is then able to extend the impact of our associates' contributions through corporate donations. Shaw associates are also central to local United Way operations, holding dozens of board seats and other volunteer positions.
