These guys are the best! Before installing new floors in our house, Carl, the owner of Town and Country, took the time to research and make sure the new floors would be an exact match with the existing species of wood of the other floors in our house. He also had the new boards hand-scraped like the existing floors and made sure the beveled-edge was the same. His attention to detail was quite impressive! In addition, he had the boards stained offsite so we didn't have to move out or be subjected to toxic chemicals and excessive construction dust while the floors were being installed. His lead installer, Jorge, was great to work with. Jorge and his team were friendly and professional at all times. They worked quickly and efficiently and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves. Carl also helped us select new wool area rugs for several rooms in our house. They all needed to be custom cut to fit properly and Carl made sure all the measurements were exact. Carl was always on time for our appointments and he was always available to talk by phone or answer texts if I had any questions. He delivered on everything as promised and did not stray from our agreed upon budget. The new floors and rugs look amazing and I am beyond happy with the outcome of this project. I would hire Carl and his team again in a heartbeat!
I had no experience with choosing and installing new flooring for my home. Carl, the owner was very good at keeping me calm and helping me choose the best floor for my house, both in terms of my design wishes as well as my budget. He was always on time with appointments we set up and had a lot of experience and knowledge about the whole process, which felt daunting to me. As the job got started, his head installer, Johnny, did swift and careful work. I did not move out during this process, so I was really overwhelmed by how much I had to move stuff around, but Carl kept me grounded and Johnny was not phased by having to move furniture around to accommodate the installation. My floors look incredible and I have had so many compliments on how they have changed the whole look of my home. Johnny even worked really late one night just to get my roommates' room finished so they could have somewhere to sleep that night. I truly appreciated the time and effort they put forth. Definitely consider using Town and Country Flooring for your home flooring projects. I always like to support local businesses rather than chains, and Carl has a really fair and helpful business to support. Thanks guys!
Above and beyond! Not only did the refinishing on the existing would look amazing, but they were also able to install new tiles in the bathrooms and fresh carpet in both bedrooms. The end product not only looks amazing, they make the process stressless and work with you to achieve all expectations.
These guy are great! I was moving my chiropractic office, and I had a tight window between the contractor and the time I had to be out of my old office. They came and installed both the hard floor and the carpet in one day. The install was excellent, with an invisible joint where we had to use two sections of carpet in a large room, and great work on the vinyl. Prices were about the same as home depot, and the service was better. The guys helped me understand the carpet grades available, and how to chose what was right for me.
Like a few other reviews on here, my experience started out well, and then rapidly deteriorated. The older gentleman we worked with started out very polite, but his attitude changed quite a bit toward the end (see below). We had a stair runner installed. I could say a lot, however, the 3 most important negatives for me were: (1) The carpet installer was not given any instructions on how to install -- which I didn't realize until much later. I don't speak spanish well, so even if I did realize, it wouldn't have helped much. (2) 5 huge carpet staples were left lying around in a 10 foot radius around the install site, that our toddler could easily have stepped on. The cleaning that the installer did was incredibly lacking, so be careful there. (3) Finally, in attempting to follow up on a refund for an overbilled charge, the sales associate I worked with actually hung up on me! I had not planned to leave a review at all until this happened. T&C --please treat your customers like customers!
Terrible service and poor quality work. Avoid at all costs! They claim to be NFWA certified but are not, according to woodfloors.org. Town and Country broke our front door key in half, leaving it in the keyhole without telling anyone, and left our house unlocked two days in a row. In spite of their high prices, they did a very poor job installing hardwood floors, leaving scratches, bumps, dots, and edging issues. We asked them to fix these issues twice, but they failed utterly. We've had to live outside our home for 6 days while they coated the floors and didn't bother to fix the underlying issues, literally glossing over them. To put icing on the cake, they left our lights on overnight while we couldn't go inside and step on the floors to turn the lights off. To make matters worse, they sent someone who couldn't speak English to meet with our general contractor to look at the "finished" project. They did not provide proof of the hardwood grade and type, nor did they record the moisture readings they took before installation. To call T&C's sloppy workmanship "professional" would be an overstatement. Save yourself from unnecessary stress and sheer disappointment.

We contacted Steve as he had done a previous wood flooring job in our kitchen as a sub to a General Contractor and he gave us a ballpark quote over the phone to finish off the adjacent room. He came out with samples, and discussed possibilities. When we decided on a course of action he gave us another quote pretty quickly. It was about $1K+ different, but it was grounded in our situation and our choices. We went ahead and the work started about a week later. I was on site for the first few hours and Carlos and crew, got right to work. As the week wore on Carlos and friends arrived on time each day and Steve was in contact with me at work. The finished product looked great until one board split, 2 days later. Carlos and team were back the next day to pull it out and replace it and apply coats of finish to a wider area to blend in the fix. Carlos came back one more time to help it along. Being that wood varies because it is a natural product, some pieces stick out- and this one still does. But, overall we feel that we got a very good job, Steve kept us in the loop as to what was happening and kept his crew at it until the job was accepted.

I recently had the pleasure of working on a project with Carl .Steve and Stewart. They really know about flooring and genuinely care about the customers they serve.

We worked w/ Stewart Klein and chose Town & Country because their installers are their employees and have wonderful reviews. 1. Though selected T&C because of the installers, instead contract installers arrived. We have a seam in the center of the area top of our stairs, our highest traffic area, though we were very specific this was not what we wanted both for the person who measured and the installers. It has been only 7 months and it looks dreadful already. 2. We believe T&C either did not measure correctly or did not order the correct amount of carpet, for at the end of installation in 3 rooms and hallways, about 1000 sq feet, there was only a tiny remnant. This probably exacerbated the problem about the way the carpet was laid. We have an unacceptable result and do not feel we got what we carefully planned or paid for. Buyer beware.

I am pleased we chose Town and Country for our flooring project. Stewart provided great service in the office, helping us select the correct flooring for our house. He answered all of our questions about types of wood, thickness, brand differences, installation gotchas, etc. He always seemed on top of things, and was very pleasant every time we visited the store or talked on the phone. He's a no-pressure salesman, who is more than happy to let you take your time making your decision. Doug performed the actual installation and did a really top-notch job. We had a challenging hallway project with over a half-dozen different room transitions, a squeaky subfloor, a closet, a staircase, and a lot of baseboard work. The space is narrow, so any deviation from a straight line would've been pretty glaring, which added to the complexity. Doug put his heart into the project, took his time to get each part just right, and completed the project like a true craftsman... always focusing on the details. This was well demonstrated when he was trying to remove some of the squeakiness from the original subfloor (the base upon which he lays the purchased wood). It's an old house, and I didn't expect we could get rid of all the noise, but Doug wouldn't give up. He kept at it, board by board, applying all sorts of tricks. I guess he could tell that it was important to me, so he put in extra time... and to my surprise he fixed every last noisy board. In addition to being good at their jobs, both Doug and Stewart are really nice guys. If you're visiting Town and Country Flooring, I encourage you to seek them out.

T & C Flooring did an amazing job installing laminate flooring on the first floor of my home and new carpet in my master bedroom. I was quite pleased that Steve was able to so closely match my new carpet to the older carpet adjoining. I also had an area on the first floor that wasn't level with the rest and they easily took care of that to make it unnoticeable. I love my new floors and, having a dog, they are so much easier to keep clean. Steve and Karl go out of their way to provide the best service and I highly recommend them!

T&C has done it again! I must say these guys know what they're talking about! I needed to find a carpet which matched an old brown one I had in one of my rentals (since it's durable and doesn't show stains easily) and Steve took the time to locate one that was pretty darn close! I just had to mail a small square sample and he has so much knowledge about where to find stuff that he called me back in a few days to let me know he found a close match and that install could take place soon! Yes, it did and without a hitch! I love that they cleaned up so well afterwards too and I didn't have to take anything out to the trash myself or sweep up. What more can a customer ask for? Attentive customer service is how someone keeps my business! Such professionals! I will be back soon for laminate flooring options and I wouldn't visit any other flooring store in town! If you want to get it done right with great pricing, customer service and excellent installation, go to T&C!

I can give them 4-5 starts for the actual installation but... Have you seen the Seinfeld episode when Jerry and Elaine picks up a booked rental car and there is no car to pick up? Then you know how these guys works. They can take the order (incl money) but they can't hold it. We made an order way in advance and we were specific on the installation day. When we touched base the week before they admitted they had forgot to order the carpet. They were truly sorry. During the week they slowly changed the story and starts blaming us which I found kind of awkward and that itself is the one and only reason I will avoid them. They made a human error so why blame me and my wife. To avoid us needing to pay one month additional rent and reschedule moving trucks etc. we ended up camping out in the living room until the carpet was installed. During the process they promised to get back to talk compensation but they of course never did. The carpet is nice though but we are not 100% sure its the one we actually ordered :-)

We replaced our second floor carpet to hard wood (800sf). After seeing the reviews for T&C I stopped into the show room and Stewart was the rep who we worked with. We ordered EcoFusion Stranded Bamboo in the light carbonized color. The positives: Stewart was helpful and attentive, showing me the bamboo selections. He ordered as per our specs and made several calls on my first visit to check on stocks and delivery times. He is responsive (but only communicates) by phone. The showroom has a wide selection. The negatives: 1. T&C does not price match. We spent over $4170 with delivery. I went with T&C anyway given the yelp reviews. 2. Ineffective Followthrough. Our stair nose was backordered which in and of itself was not a problem. Stewart said the nosing (1) will be shipped to my home address so I won't have to make another trip and (2) if we want the nosing sooner, EcoFusion can send a comparable nosing with an earlier ETA. Based on this, I went ahead despite the backorder. In the end the nosing did not ship to my home. I had to make another trip (45min drive each way). When I asked about (2) a few weeks later he denied mentioning the comparable nosing. 3. Stewart does not use email. I emailed Stewart several times about the ETA of the nosing so that we could sequence our remodel accordingly. He never responded to my emails. He kept leaving me voicemails. Instead his colleague Carl basically took over the email communication and was forwarding my emails to EcoFusion and visa versa. Same with the receipt. He didn't know how to email me the receipt. 4. If your order is damaged, don't expect Stewart to apologize or sympathize. Our installer noticed the nosing was damaged (6" crack/split in the middle of the 72" plank). I called T&C that evening and a helpful gentleman apologized for the damaged nosing and took a message for Stewart. I called Stewart the next morning 5/23 at 9:30 about the damaged nosing. He was very patronizing to me on the phone. He never said sorry for anything. He said "well, why don't you bring in the damaged piece then we'll get a new piece to you." I said that would delay it (and we had already waited from 4/23 to 5/20 for the nosing) and requested a new piece be shipped out and that if he must have the damaged piece, to ask EcoFusion to pay for the shipping. He said, and I quote ver batim, "You know, it's not like they own UPS or something." I said they can pre-paid shipping and do they really need the damged piece? He said he'll ask and see if they will send me a new piece before they have the damaged one. Then I heard nothing. 2 hours later, still 5/23, I called again. He said I have to deal with "Doug" from EcoFusion who is the "VP" and that "Doug" will call me soon. This can't be that hard. We spent $4k and they can't send a replacement nosing without me having to wait for a VP to call me? I ended up searching for an email that Carl from T&C had cc'd me on. Doug's email was there so I emailed him and cc'd the EcoFusion people with my home address. 2 minutes later, a lovely young lady called and said the new piece is on it's way and gave me the tracking number. Her name was Eileen. She was super helpful and apologized for the inconvenience. She said they don't need the damaged nosing just a few photos, which I emailed them. My experience could have been better if Stewart simply said sorry and kept me posted. Frankly, if he learned to use email, it would have eliminated my angst waiting for all the phone tag.

We just had new carpet installed on my entire 2nd floor. Stewart was great to work with and he even got me a huge discount on the carpet. Chris measured the project and said they'd send their best installer. Michael did the installation and it was flawless and he was real pleasure to work with. Be sure to ask for him. You won't be disappointed. All in all, these guys were great.

It's the people here that we really liked. You can look at flooring anywhere and the number of choices is bewildering. We tried the two big box stores (Home Depot and Loews) but the way the customer has to be the one driving the sales process is a bit hard to swallow - and forget getting good advice. T&C are real pros and our floor looks great.

After reading all the other Yelp reviews I decided to visit Town & Country Floors to discuss new vinyl on my kitchen floor. I met with Stewart who was so friendly and helpful. They had a wide selection of patterns and I was able to bring home samples. After choosing one Stewart came to my home, took measurements and gave me a quote that afternoon. The flooring was ordered and put in within 10 days. Doug arrived, moved all my heavy appliances ,prepped the floor and the next day meticulously cut and laid out the vinyl. He removed all the base boards and replaced them without a scratch! He is a true craftsman! I recommend the company for its professionalism, craftsmanship and friendly demeanor of all the employees.

People are nice. They are very friendly. That's why I give one star. The star is for their attitude. However, they can't get the work done well. They didn't measure well, so there are gaps between carpet to wall (they fill something into the gaps to look a little better). And the seams are quite obvious. I talked to people about the issues. And they agreed to come back to take a look. It's been three weeks. And I didn't get any response from them neither saw them come back. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Later on, People are coming back and work on the seams in carpet. It looks better now. I also understand why the seam is so obvious is also caused by the light from out side and the carpet is not that fury. They said it will take a few months for the carpet to become solid and stable. Raise the rating to 4 and will see what happen later on.

Just finished installation. They did a great job. I also went to lowe's, but lowe's measurement is almost 100 sq ft more than the accurate size and won't allow me to use my existing pad that is still in great condition. Stewart and his installer provided more professional and excellent service, not only telling me that my existing pad is even better that they have in store, but also taking care of my house carefully. And most important they installed it just two days after order; while lowe's that at least 2 weeks. I would highly recommend town and country to all my friends for sure!

These guys rock! I spent too much time getting quotes from big box and big name stores - big waste of time and alot of disappointments! When I read Yelp reviews of Town & Country, I walked right in without an appointment. Stewart immediately helped me and spent alot of time making me feel welcome and educated about my flooring choices. Over the course of a few weeks, I had several questions about the process...Stewart was always so patient and knowledgeable and really made me feel like a valued customer. I had laminate and carpet installed in about 2 days by Doug and Michael who were so friendly and professional. I absolutely love my new floors. I am so grateful to have found a genuine, honest, and hard-working local company. Thank you all for the fantastic work!

Our Realtor turned us on to Town and Country Flooring. I only wish I had found them sooner. When we remodeled our kitchen years ago we used another company to carpet our stairs from the garage to the kitchen. They were nice and professional but the carpet lasted about 2yrs before wearing out. Carl came by and explained what went wrong and how he would do the job properly with the right products. I was so impressed with his professionalism I asked for a quote on carpeting another building on the property that I was using as a Home Theater. The price was fantastic. I later had them return to add flexible base board material, again at a great price. The guys who showed up to do the work were professional, friendly and fast and left the job site clean. Their prices were much better then others in the area, I only wish I had found them earlier, I could have been living with great carpeting for years. Now I have a few days to enjoy their handy work before we sell the home. I highly recommend them.

I just had the install carpet in my apartment and was very pleased with the result. The estimate was accurate and reasonable and the installers showed up right on time. I've never seen people install carpet that fast and the end result was flawless. I have odd shaped rooms so I thought that would be a problem but the result was great. I would definitely use these guys again! Note that they've moved to 961 Woodside Road in Redwood City.

You can't ask for more professional service. They measured and installed our new carpet within a week. It looks great! The installers were very professional and took great care with their work. They had the carpet we wanted in stock already. I think they have a great selection.

Town and Country flooring recarpeted three of our bedrooms. I knew the brand/model/color of carpet I wanted already. I worked with Stewart over the phone, and he offered the best prices and earliest installation date out of the six local shops that sold this carpet. Stewart was extraordinarily helpful and friendly and very considerate of my time. There was about a week between when we ordered the carpet and the installation date. Installation took about three hours (w/ two people) and was done professionally and with good attention to detail. T&C's carpet installers did not put a single scratch in our newly painted baseboard. Working with T&C made for the easiest home improvement project ever. I was quite happy that I didn't need to spend much time on it, and didn't even need to visit their store!

let's start with the good: the selection is great. the service started out great (with carl)...and then went downhill quickly (with steve). we went there because our neighbor got some really nice vinyl flooring. we knew how much it cost because their kitchen is just the same as ours. when i went in to get samples, carl even remembered them and asked if my daughter played with their kids. he came out to measure about 2 days later and then called to quote me a price that was almost double what the neighbors paid. granted, ours should have been slightly more because we were getting some sub-flooring that they had not, but that should have been about $200 more...not $450! when my husband called him about this he said that he was thinking of another house down the street...what?!!! you came here and measured?!!! then he offered up a better price...just like THAT...which always weirds me out. i mean, if you are going to come measure, just tell me the price! if you are going to just throw out some arbitrary number don't come over and measure and save us both some time! they installed about a week later and all seemed fine until i went to sweep on saturday night and there was a black line that wouldn't move. i got down closer to find a rip in the vinyl with dried glue that had oozed out. i called on monday (the next time that they were open) and when the guy called me back he was really rude. told me that it probably happened when we moved appliances back in. funny thing was, nothing was moved anywhere near the tear. told me that he asked his guy and he said nothing happened and that he never had lied to him before. basically, he told me in not so many words that i was lying. i was shocked and just waited for him to come over and take a look at what was going on. he showed up and saw the tear (it was probably about 5 inches long)...then told us that 'it was really odd to have someone call 5 days after an install to say there was a tear". again, inferring that we were lying...which i just love! how would i have smeared the glue all over? why would i want this to NOT be right...i mean this kitchen remodel was all waiting for the floor to be finished before we could continue. i will say that after he was over at our house, he called me to apologize for "making it sound like he was insinuating that we were lying". mmmm-hmmmmm!! they came later and put down a new floor...like they should...and i will never use that store again.

Awesome! Our contractor recommended two different vendors to have our floors redone in our new house and Town & Country was just ON IT! They gave us a verbal estimate immediately when they came out to check our floors and completed the work within a few days. Steve is just awesome, totally knowledgeable and very particular. He even knocked off a bit of the price POST completion. I highly, highly recommend Town and Country. You will feel very confident about them after you meet with them, and after you see the beautiful work they do.
